Black Belt
Great news! I can create a Mars Base screen on a red pedia environment without changing the pedia.
I found out that the pedia background is a nif file. In a previous attempt I copied the nif and dds files and made the path for the Mars Base link to the copied files. That way I could change the dds files of the copied files, and therefor the color of Mars, without changing the pedia, because that is hardcoded to use the files in the original location.
Unfortunately, I got the infamous red blob. I thought it was cause by some hardcoded stuff I didn’t understand, so I gave up that idea. But today, I tried the same thing again and it worked! I guess I made an error in the path of the Mars Base background at my first attempt, even my double and triple checking.
A nice side effect is that I do not have to add any fake building in the screen or whatever.
One other nice thing of this, I should also be able to import the space background of Final Frontier. That means we can have the Hubble Space Telescope with a space background in the pedia. (And probably some other things as well which I didn’t think of)
