On 27 August 2002, Vice President Dick Cheney addressed the Veterans of Foreign Wars at Nashville.

He lied to get us into a war in Iraq. This will be exactly fifteen years ago next week.

Simply stated, there is no doubt that Saddam Hussein now has weapons of mass destruction. There is no doubt he is amassing them to use against our friends, against our allies, and against us. And there is no doubt that his aggressive regional ambitions will lead him into future confrontations with his neighbors -- confrontations that will involve both the weapons he has today, and the ones he will continue to develop with his oil wealth.

It would be nice if you could repost this on other internet discussion boards so that this anniversary will not pass unnoticed. Or not. I am not your boss.

It would be nicer if he could be prosecuted. Isn't there something like "treason" or the like for officials purposedly lying to the public ?

Not "treason," which the Constitution defines as "Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort."

But launching a war of aggression would subject him, Bush, Romney, and Wolfowitz to prosecution as war criminals.

yeah, if lying us into a war isn't a high crime or misdemeanor what is, lying about a BJ under oath?

Its only a crime when a Democrat dose it
Of course Republicans awarded Bush and Cheney with a second term

Cheney and Bush ought to be prosecuted in The Hague. Won't happen because for the USA, an alternate reality seems to exist.
