Foreign Policy: UniversCiv

I think we should send it now.

Yes, so the French guys from Uciv have whole afternoon and night for discussion.

Could someone please send it? I don't have access to my computer at the moment. Thanks :)

Actually, looking at the map, I dare to hope that Uciv are arming to take few Spanish cities while we take the blunt of the zulu attack. They have bordering cities, while General Jungle lies between us and Uciv and most of all I read again what Uciv told us in their last message: "We have no hostile intentions against your nation." This is not a deal or not an agreement, but it is clear statement, which if they attack us will make the one who said those words a liar.

One interesting thing I missed is we see Uciv's research. They are researching Mathematics and will have it in 6 turns. So no catapults for them for sure.

This just in:

Hi,

I think our city would be fine... but where would you found yours so that they don't interfere too much?
By the way we find a NAP till turn 140 is a bit short. Would you mind extending to, say, turn 170?

Yuufo

More delaying tactics? I'm really concerned about the fact that we still don't have anything official signed.

On the other hand, I say we just agree to the longer NAP with them. That'll keep us safe while we grind it out against the Spaniards. I was taking a look at our surrounding lands, and I think we have enough that we can fill in peacefully, along with annexing Zulu lands, to keep us occupied until we're ready to tag team RB. If that's how we decide to proceed, we need UCiv to stay friendly with us well past T170.

I get Sun Tzu's attack the stronger neighbor argument, but the Spaniards changed the game, so I think we have to play with this new hand we were dealt.

Yes, I agree with a NAP to turn 170. The Spaniards have volunteered to give us their land so we can deal with Uciv later.

Turn 170 is close to 175 and they might be coordinating with RB. But even if they are it doesn't matter right now. We need to secure our Northern flank and crush the Spaniards.

In 4-5 hours I am going to send them a message proposing them NAP to t200 and telling them where our own city is planned to be.

Our plans until now that we can sweep trough Uciv until t170 are seriously compromised by the Spanish attack, so I think we must better have our flank secured the longest possible. Also, we want to avoid a period where we end our NAPs with 2 of our major neighbors.

I agree. But since we need this NAP right now I was willing to accept their 170 suggestion (give them exactly what they are asking for) just to get the darn thing signed and set in stone. I fear if we ask for 200 they will just continue to stall and drag out the negotiations.

OK, will do so.

BTW, I had a chat with MZ and he told me the Uciv whips were most probably only ratthouses. He said they saw at least 3 new buildings in their cities. This makes sense, as they are ORG and they must be hurrying for their UB.

Turn 170. But sending them a message confirming 170 does nothing. We need them to confirm that we have a NAP to turn 170. I suggest:

Team UCiv

We accept your offer of a NAP until turn 170. We also suggest a NAP extension until after turn 200. Please confirm the NAP until after turn 170 and let us know whether you agree to extend it to after turn 200.
