The last 3 times i went to McDonald's their ketchup tasted like piss

Your mistake was going to McDonald's. Tbf they're better than similar fast food.

Here they've improved quality wise just not really worth it. We go 2-3 times a year usually traveling or on arrival.

Politics thread or the middle class bullfeathers thread? Youuu decide

Hehehehe!

Just for context, this particular McDonald's is one near my work so I go somewhat regularly, and ever since about the new year the ketchup has tasted different (and horrible). Ketchup from several other restaurants does not have the same problem so I was wondering if perhaps that particular McDonald's had switched to a new, shittier/cheaper supplier or something. I do have yet to test out a different McDonald's location.

(Also I tend not to like "fancy" ketchup very much at all)

The politics of it are like, private equity ruins one of the few places i can eat at near my work? Maybe?

You're going to see quality degrade and prices increase in both beef and pork this year, on the odds. Beef herds haven't been this low since 1951 and they're expected to contract further this year. Lots of hogs for slaughter up the first half of this year, but the farrowing herds are low and expected to shrink even further.

Democrats and fake Trump Republicans really don't tend the pipeline. Expect higher food prices and continuing climbs for the foreseeable. So projects the USDA.

I don't eat a whole lot of either; when I go to McD's I get the chicky nuggies. What's also kind of ridiculous is, ketchup notwithstanding, the 10 piece nuggies at McD's is only like 70 cents less than a 3-finger combo from Raising Cane's, which kind of defeats the whole purpose of McD's

Chicken will be fungible, so is likely to increase in tandem. The livestock market impacts the upsteam grains production, which are the basic calories that everyone eats.

Pretty sure beautiful people with a rainbow of fresh veg from every corner of the earth will notice less.

But yes. Haven't eaten at McDs in a long time. Don't miss it. If I want to pretend I'm having a proper sit down... has Culver's made it all the way out there yet?

Looks like the closest ones are in North Carolina, but I could be wrong

Well, they're not the neatest thing since sliced bread, but they do have a relatively visible commitment to neurodiversity and the food tastes a cut above. It might be a cheese thing.

Plus you can say some travesty phrase like, "I would like a triple-bacon butterburger with fried cheese curds and a chocolate concrete shake." I mean, don't. But you could. Do get the curds. MMMMmmm. Squeakycheese.

Love fried cheese curds.

The dairy menu items shine. The rest is... better than McDonalds, but I wouldn't give it a Raising Cane's. That was pretty good when I wandered in, plus they were playing aught's EDM remixes. It might have been the music.

We get all of that from local suppliers. Small outfits, people we have bought from after we bought from their dead mothers and fathers. The quality has never gotten worse, probably wasn't that good to start with, idk, prices are up but still less than in town. Which, I never quite understood how that works out.

Literally buy beef that was grazed on land that my ancestors owned when they first came to this country. I like that. We were in beef and dairy. Going back to the 1760s or something. A man and his son came over on a boat named the Krakow. But they hailed from an area near the national boundaries of Germany, France and Switzerland.

Rubio was my guy. I don't really blame him for adjusting to Trump. It was the only way he could stay in play. Ryan and all of these others jumping off the ship and those who virtue signal by leaving, how does that help? But some react to him as if he were a Nazi collaborator and deserves a bullet in the head.

If you are eating out at Ruth's Chris, then you have quite a ways to go before you go hungry. How are your arteries btw? ;)
Sorry to disappoint you but so far, I am an outlier. Last night I went to the grocery and a tomato, two pears and a bag of lentils set me back over 6 dollars. Who can afford that?

The secret to Culvers is the single patty.
Like $2.50 cheaper than double.

Cheese curds :D

Transportation and labor. I can say it again and again and it will still be transportation and labor. There are also taxes on every transaction, so every set of hands takes the government's cut in addition to needing to earn a living. Village, township, county, state, federal. Plus bonus taxing districts like community colleges. Also, finance's cut. Every credit card transaction bleeds over a percent to Wall Street. Every business with a loan needs to clear it. All there, every time. But mostly transportation(I'm going to lump storage in here, perishables cost more(fruits and vegetables are very high on this measure(but it's everything, grain takes a lot of propane and stiration to sit in piles for several months and not mould))) and labor.

Of which the fake Republicans have decided to be the enemy of, just like the other side. Just happened. Was all over the news.

Probably worth just eating on their own. Who needs to poop, anyways?
