Glenn Beck Goes Off The Deep End Again

I dont disagree with the observation, and add the following as well. I think what we are seeing is simply him recognizing his success path and embracing it. The more wacky he got, the better his ratings got. And so forth, and so on.

This is really all I am looking for.

There's another website I go on and if you dare mention how much of a [bleep] Glenn Beck is the fanboys go into swarm mode.

In my view, regardless of your politics, you should be able to see how much of a sell-out he is.

Glenn Beck: He shills shrill swill from the ill-will mill.

Only if one is prone to irrational panic. Nothing he says is any more radical than one would expect from a bourgeois liberal.

Yeah, he didn't even really say that much in those clips. If I had to say based on that, I'd say that he's about as much a rabid anti-capitalist as Cutlass.

Although he did say something about Marx being right about something at one point, which I guess is HIDE YA KIDS AND HIDE YA WIFE territory for some.

Chrissy Matthews is a sucker for stuff like that. He was giddy as a schoolgirl on Mission Accomplished day talking about how manly Bush was in his little flight suit get-up.

Oh I have to see this. Please give me a link, if you can find one.

Of all the hosts on MSNBC, a network whose views I agree with, Chris Matthews annoys me to no end.

For the love of god, conservatives, would you PLEASE go after that guy? PLEASE??? He's such a sitting duck, and he really, really deserves it. I'll help!

I hate the way he cuts people off. Get him off that whole network.

Whats to discuss here?

I get you dont like Beck.

I get you love the Daily Show and Huffington Post.

Other than that.....not sure what the point is here.

Your post is kind of an example of the point.

Conservatives always make it about the source instead of the facts; about who's biased which way instead of who's right; about 'what's your agenda' instead of 'is it what you say true.'

This is what keeps Beck and his ilk on the air. People will believe the most outrageous lies from him because he's authoritatively right wing. Meanwhile the people who fact check him get tagged as "liberal media."

Are you trying to allege that huffingtonpost is not liberal?

/whatever.

Libs also do the same thing in regards to source. Hell, it gets done all the time when I link a Foxnews source, even after I point out its simply an AP reprint.

I have said this several times on these forum and I say so again. I am not a fan of Glen Beck.

He simply plays too much to the emotional for me. I really have only one conservative talk show host I listen to consistently and that is Michael Medved. He never gets emotional and actually has more people talk that disagree with him than not. Probably the most intelligent guy on talk radio today.

That's because Medved is pretty much the only rational voice on conservative talk radio. He genuinely seems to believe what he says and isn't trying to be some shrill, trolling, clownshoes nutcase.

I know it is off-topic but I am still saddened that no one responded to my rallying cry to point out how much of a jerkwad Chris Matthews is. :(

I don't care if I am the only one in the club, I'm starting it dang it.

Let me join you then. Chris Matthews is indeed a jerkwad.

Solidarity baby!

"A great many". That's my Mobbie. Never specific but always implying I said "all" for a reason.
/meh. I dont recall a survey making the rounds asking 'do you think Obama is the messiah', so exact numbers arent exactly available, so you will just have to deal with my observation.

Or not. /shrug.
My point: "A great many" is meaningless. I could say "a few" and it would be the same. You're not saying "most" or "majority" or such.

maybe the Beck audience hate Obama to such an extent that they project that on those who voted for Obama.
Ah, I see. So there was no huge over-hype of Obama on taking office, and these are not the droids you are looking for. Got it.
You see I'm putting my own quotes above yours? That is to show that your: "So there was no huge over-hype of Obama" is a conclusion that you cannot draw from my post. So please, stop acting as if I said there wasn't a hype. That was not the subject. Please simply react to the content of what I write instead of putting all sorts of claims in my mouth I am not making. Thanks a lot.

I think a great many people also voted for Obama because they absolutely didn't want Palin.
Well, since Palin wasnt running for President, I would have to disagree to an extent. I will admit many didnt like her on the ticket with McCain, and she certainly didnt help, but the election was still about Obama vs McCain...not Obama vs Palin.
And again, I never said Palin was running for president. I said people voted because they didn't want Palin.

Now, are you denying the possibility that Palin being on the ticket with McCain was a turn off for voters? A possibility. Because, just like you, I gave my opinion "I think a great ...". Let me borrow from you for a moment here. You will just have to deal with my observation.

Or not. /shrug.

And now Beck and Palin are hailed as the saviours of America. See my point?
Odd, I dont see any conservatives in this forum doing that. Do you?
So that's our new yard stick is it? Well using that yard stick, did you see anyone act as if Obama was the messiah on this forum? Do you recall anyone here said, "Great! I don't have to pay my bills anymore!"

So using your logic.
As in all things, this type of situation only works if there is indeed a modicum of truth to it, and in all fairness, there were a great many examples of people seeing Obama as the messiah
Odd, I dont see any liberals in this forum doing that. Do you?

Christ man, here I was thinking we'd at least agree that the media focusses on the extreme cases on both sides and we'd find common ground there.

And you try to refute that by reasoning for one side: So you're saying there were none who thought of Obama as their saviour? While reasoning for the other side: Did you see any of the conservatives here do that, and actually think that debunks my point.

edit, read rest of the thread, and just wanted to say: Chris Matthews is a jerkwad.

That's all :)

When talking about the Obama as a Messiah aspect, MobBoss usually points to CivGeneral posts during the election days. I'm surprised he hadn't done so already.

Ok so there is now bipartisan agreement that Beck and Matthews are basket cases and should be shipped off to some island we used to do nuclear testing on or something. Who can we add to this list?

I'd offer up that other guy. What's his face. Not Olbermann (makes me laugh), from MSNBC.... the liberal version of Beck... not funny at all... kind of a douche....

Uh... Ed Schultz.

He might be a nobody outside of liberal circles but I'd toss his :nuke::nuke: on the wagon.

Seeing as he's not a big fish, I don't think I'd be out of line if I ask for Gretchen Carlson and/or Megyn Kelly be tossed out as well. No big losses there. All on a boat, pacific ocean, and then blam, accidentally blew up from large, mysterious amounts of TNT.

World, better place, less headache for all of us.

Now, about mister Limbaugh...

I like Megyn. :(

I like the challenging way she looks at the camera. Never pick up a word she says though.

Using the mute button is cheating, Ziggy. If you can stand to hear her talk without shoving a red hot iron poker up your nose, then it's legal. Until that time, you're robbing from the conservative cookie jar.

It's not the mute button, just a trick I learned and make use of while talking to women. :)
