GLOVES- Do you wear them for style or function?

I had a pair of football gloves to spare my hands of being torn to shreds when the high school weighlifting room got some new bars (and the grip part of the bar wasn't yet smoothed down by use). Plus I used it while playing football...came in handy, especially whenever I got a finger caught in a facemask.

only wear them for functionality, e.g. handling hazardous chemical, getting cakes out of oven(but usually use cloth), baseball. even saw some ppl with gaming gloves.

I'm not a big fan of gloves and only wear them if I'm working on something horribly disgusting or, like Dann, my fingers are starting to hurt due to the cold. Mine aren't Chinese Air Force surplus, though. :)

When on my bike, yes, I wear gloves for function. As Loz has said, it's too cold given that you're causing the equivalent of a 70mph wind to whip over your knuckles. Also, everyone who bikes falls off sooner or later - the last time I did, I was very glad I had a decent pair of gloves on.

Otherwise, I bought a pair of leather gloves for travelling to Moscow a couple of months ago. This is possibly to do with form / appearance, as I didn't think frostbitten fingers would suit me.

I wear gloves to keep my hands warm and only then. That doesn't mean I don't look drop dead gorgeous when I do.

Hats are something I wear more for fashion than function.

I work in the dairy, the milk is numbingly cold.

I don't wear gloves often, and certainly never for style.

Only in Winter... or when I need to protect them from something.

Don't see the point in using them for fasion. I don't think they look good anyway.

Never for fashion.

I wear protection gloves for some home works, wrist protection "gloves" for rollerskating, also I use biking "gloves".

I wear warm gloves when driving in winter or when it is really cold. In the normal winter temperatures my hands stay warm unless I carry something, in which case I also wear gloves.... that's it I guess.

I think for most people gloves can be fashionable and they pay attention to what they wear, but I can't think of any person I know who would wear gloves without any practical need - i.e. in the middle of the summer.

Jeez straight in their with the edgy hard hitting topics, slow down there, ok we get it your all about the tought topics and the real world issues. :)

function not form definitely.

Same with most clothing I buy. Although everyone has a pulling shirt I guess.

I wear them in the gym for grip and to protect my hands. I wear them in the winter to keep them warm. Always for function, not style (though stylish if meets the function).

I wear gloves sometimes. Which reminds me, I have to get a new pair. The Prep's in my school will start to think that I don't wear them anymore, and then the "Tramp Gloves" will be reduced to "Fingerless Gloves", WITHOUT QUALITY RIP!!!

Girly forum that way ------------->

Also, I wear them for function, but if I'm going to wear them I like them to at least look nice... So it ends up as a bit of both I suppose.

I wear glovesonly in snowy weather or while cycling.

The Wind Chill factor can really kill your fingers in cold weater, even with gloves on.
