Hex's FfH2 Poster Contest, Redux

The last thing I saw
Was a merry man grinning
Please stop the laughter

Alternatively;

A merry mad man grinning
Was the last I saw
I'll never laugh again

Whichever you like best, I guess.

This came to mind because I got an idea for a short story a while back, in which a nameless soldier was captured and then tortured to death by a Baleseraph Merryman. Yeah; I've got a pretty twisted imagination.

I looked it up in wiki before I posted the initial rules, but since there are two accepted forms, I will allow either to stand.

7-5-7
5-7-5

I'm a reasonable guy... ;)

I cannot publicly comment on any of the current entries, but suffice to say, I'm enjoying the creativity so far. This will not be easy to pick only one. :goodjob:

P.S. Sorry you missed the first one Vehem. I trust if you win again, you will not be lax.

I'll take a shot:

Death of a god melts the ice
Erebus reborn
The grip of Agares tightens

Note: I assumed that Agares contained two syllables... if I'm wrong let me know :scan:

I thought of a couple more, in my sleep of all places....

Cassiel's Tail...
---------------------------
Grigori Adventurer
Forsakes Religion
A Tavern built for gold trade

---------------------------

A great community mod
Fall From Heaven II
Better than vanilla Civ

This is my try:)

misty dreams of a titan
dragons will arise
hell and heaven start their fight

and one of my girl friend

watch the phoenix bust in flames
ashes to ashes
ascension to a new age

Foro:)

This is fun. I'll try a 7-5-7:

Orthus threatens your fragile clan
Armageddon comes
Buboes rides to test your will

:D

Arcane powers of the void
Destroy now my foes
Rend their flesh from their bodies.

I'm a bit confused about exactly how many syllables words such as their and bodies contain, so I hope it's valid.

Here is a second 7-5-7 just for fun.

Mulcarn's grip on Erebus wanes
Tundra turns to grass
Fields of wildflowers bloom and sway

I thought of that while I was waking up this morning.

Here is mine...

I played Civ one. It was good
Good is Civ four too
Fall from Heaven 2 made it Great

Thread falls down the board
Slowly as glacial ice-drift.
BUMP IT! Said Vehem.

I'm not much of a poet and never really liked haiku's much, but here goes:

Glaciers on a long retreat

Civilization

Rises again from the cold.

One of those posters would look REALLY cool on my wall! Let's hope my poetry is up to the task :S ...

Evil spawns throughout the world
Holy wars are waged
Is armageddon at hand?

The deadline draws near,
Time for last moments of genius.
Vehem bumps again.

Yes...24 hours until the contest closes.

Multiple entries are allowed too...(up to 5 entries), for both the 'best of' category and the 'random drawing' category.

I just find this now?!?!?

Bah, I can't do haiku so I'll wait for Hex to run a contest where highest post count of an FfH2 team member wins. :D

The contest is officially closed.

I need the addresses of the winners by next Friday, October 5th, Noon, CST, via a PM. IF I do not hear from the winners by that time, the prizes go to the runners-up.

The Haiku winner (or Haiku runner-up) gets first choice of poster. The random winner will get the other poster.

And the winners are...

Haiku Winner
Nikis-Knight
I really liked how he wrapped several concepts into this poem...ffh, civfanatics, even the subject matter of my artwork. And he ended it with a question for the reader to ponder. Niceeeeeee! :b:

Haiku Runner-up
Shadius
#1. Of the conventional poems that related solely to the world of Erebus, this one had a sad, melancholy feel that sticks out in my mind.

Random Drawing Winner
Broken Hawk

Random Drawing Runner-up
Foro

Congratulations!!!

Yeah! I won something and something great at that.

I like both of Shadius' haikus. Having your fate in the hands of a Merryman is scary. The Balseraphs creep me out anyway. :)
