Hey Bird! I'm Morose & Lugubrious
You could always not buy it maybe.
did you have a bad day today, friend?
You could always not buy it maybe.
Do they even sell it in Germany?
did you have a bad day today, friend?
Are you asking him if he's okay?
You could always not buy it maybe.
I am indeed.
And yes, you did not ask, but there is actually a Original Normal Butter and a Butter Rich (TM) version, too, to complete the holy trinity. Because of course what we really need in our lives is to choose between 3 different Butter Syrups, of which none contain any butter. Not even Butter Rich (TM). It's entirely butterless. Capitalism Ho!°
Here’s a story of someone getting fired over a poorly thought Halloween costume, which was meant to be a satire about racism, and two young people who went to the party two years ago decide to dredge it up again. They probably meant to get the host fired too, they’re upset with him. And this woman who wore the costume is not famous. It’s strange the Washington Post even ran this story unless they just wanted to make a point about how ridiculous people are.

The story is so weird. There is a Hallooween party by the WaPo caricaturist. So already it's weird they have their internal debates made public. Some white woman comes in blackface because she wanted to make fun of Megyn Kelly defending black face. And then a black and a latinx woman, who according to the text don't even know the host of the party, haven't even met him (how is that possible?!) walk up to her to debate her costume. And then 2 years later they feels traumatized by the incident and call it harassment. (The white woman eventually yelled at, fled the party in tears. The only thing that makes sense to me is that the blackface itself was the harassment, in which case I disagree with that terminology).
I'm usually a friend of WaPo Journalism but this is some incredibly dumb **** ngl.
Satire, without a clarity of purpose, risks becoming what it mocks - if even satire was really the goal, and not an excuse after the fact.
Aunt Jemima is getting axed!! who's next, Uncle Ben??![]()
You see, being able to choose between these syrup alternatives is real freedom, unlike living in a country where you don't have to fear the police attacking you for, like, no reason and getting away with it, which is socialist/communist tyranny
did you have a bad day today, friend?
I'd reserve questions like that for people who decide to write diatribes about syrup![]()
I dunno, I think asking why Diet Syrup is being sold on the same planet as people starving is a question worth asking.
My money says more Diacetyl in the butter rich.I agree, and I think there's lots of interesting questions here really. personally I'm really curious what the difference between the Classic and the Butter Rich is and if it's really the exact same product, just one has more artificial butter aroma than the other. I honestly wonder sometimes if you could simply sell the same product to people with different packaging and advertising make it seem like there's a viable choice. or ask widely varying prices for it... oh, wait![]()
You aren't allowed to discuss the worst excesses of the left. It would lead to a range of difficulties for a website. This is connected to the issue of why the left can't meme, and how when the right memes, it's tantalizingly barbaric. The social pendulum is currently on the left. It's telling that the worst excesses of the left in America is the eventual changing of brands with racist history, compared to the right who's worst excesses pretty much lead to suffering or/and death.

I had considered this, but I wasn't as able as you were to condense it into a sentence. I expect I have much less of a problem with the current state of censorship than you might think. That being said, you're not allowed to discuss the frog tribe. If you tell the truth, you're going to offend someone, but it does not follow that if you're offending someone then you must be telling the truth.
It really isn't. If you tell the truth, you're going to offend someone, but it does not follow that if you're offending someone then you must be telling the truth. The frog tribe has not uncovered profound truths.

Truth is a dying commodity in the modern day, and both sides of the "culture war," participate in killing truth, real history, believable credibility, and any media or educational forum capable of delivering it in a "race to the bottom," to claim control of the masses and what they believe and how they view the world. It's almost like a battle of proselytizing religions, but devoid of any spirituality or moral lessons. A new Dark Age is almost certainly beckoning...
