The problem with this poll is that is it not a test nor a neccesery scientific honest observation. It can shaped by a person's arrogance, id, ego, super ego, central thought, view on life, political fanaticism, presence within their own enviroment and other factors of elerments of thought.
Which is what makes it so interesting. Actually, we might not be wrong: presumably, people who think highly of themselves are more likely to answer the poll (because they like to show off), and high self-esteem tends to correlate with high ability (not without exception, though), so it may be that the poll respondents actually are of that makeup!

When I use the word "lefty" it tends to be about loons who have no clue about economics. Righties, IMO, are people who think that mass murder is ethical. I hate them both. If forced to make a choice, I would say that the righties are worse. But both are evil.

The thing is, I don't think the most intelligent posters are neccessarily the best debaters, or at least not the ones who come across best in threads. The posters whom I actually respect are very clever, that much is obvious, but a fair few of the ones who are obviously at the very top end actually don't have the same level of flair for writing really incisive, informative posts.
