It sounds kind of weird on the surface, but is there seriously anything objectionable about it? Some kinds of gum help clean your teeth, so really you're only complimenting the prime objective of a shower. My friends think I'm weird for doing it though. Do you agree with them? Even if you don't, would you personally chew gum in the shower? Have you done it? If so, what were your thoughts on the experience? Would you or do you do it on a regular basis?

I've done it, though never in the morning. Gum first thing in the morning seems odd. I have drank a beer in my morning shower though. That's a marvelous feeling.

I only chew gun for flavor and the sensation. I have no problem with chewing in the shower.

Strange, but I don't see anything wrong with it. At least you don't eat your way through five bags of chips like one guy did in the shower, leaving crumbs and trash everywhere. (The best part was that it is in the handicapped extra-large shower on the fourth floor of a building without ramps or elevators!)

I assume that when you chew, you open your mouth to some degree and thus risk getting shower water, as well as shampoo and soap, into your mouth. Given that risk, I would postpone any gum-chewing until after I have finished showering.

Moderator Action: Poll fixed.

I guess it's acceptable, but it seems quite odd. I certainly wouldn't do it, but I'm not going to call for a witch hunt.

I have absolutely no problem with this :p

I have no issue with it in principle, but I wouldn't do it since I shower first thing in the morning and chewing gum before eating breakfast is whack.
