No, there is not.
Did we? There are some people who came here for NES/IOT and couldn't care less about Civ. Ditto some of the people who find their way to OT. They come for the community and the opportunity to discuss stuff. They might be gamers, but not necessarily Civ gamers.I know something..we all found our way here via Civ.
Everybody should at least like something about the series

It's two very different questions, I'll just observe.
I think there's a slightly greater probability of finding something to which all CFCers could assent than of finding a universal truth.

The only universal truth that exists is probably: "Universal truths do not exist (but okay just this one)"
The laws of physics seem to be different in different parts of the universe, so it seems that you can't even find a set of physical universal laws that apply to this universe only.. that would seem to imply this would be impossible to achieve for reality at large as well.
Usually people talk about moral truths in this context. That's even more of a reach. What's moral to a village idiot from Poland probably isn't moral to a six-legged flying crab lawyer from Omicron Persei 8.

Sadly the one universal truth I see is might makes right. Man is not created equal, life dont care about human rights, life kills everyday to live.
