[LP] Julius Caesar: First Look

I don't even think it's boring. Since when is buying more stuff ever boring?

It's been said a few times on the forum. It's not as flashy as say Kupe, but it's a good ability

Did the real Julius Caesar have such disproportionately large hands?

We just have this statues to figure out how Julius Caesar was. But, looking for this statue his hands looks pretty normal

Very weak ability, and not worth playing a domination game just for this.
Hell, even with the wildcard for capturing a capital (shown earlier) is pretty weak on it's own, considering Greece frontloads this ability right from the start as well as having a ton of other useful stuff going for itself.
I won't be playing this guy unless they change him, because as it stands, Trajan is just a lot stronger.
Kinda disappointed they came up with not only a very weak ability, but also a very boring one.

I'm surprised there is no discussion about having to link your account to 2k to get this.

What do you guys think of this?

Not really bothered by it at all. Already did it for the Scout Cat.

I don't know what is 2k?
The gigantic corporation that owns Firaxis and publishes their games.

It makes one wonder what the purpose of the 2K account is. For some companies it's the means of purchasing a game, but we use Steam. In some cases it's a kind of tracking software that lets a company get some data on who owns how many of their products and give them a conduit to send you marketing. I'm not really sure what it is on this case. I've had a 2K account for years. I first used it to link Beyond Earth and that Starships mobile game together, which was fun. I also used it to secure the Scout Cat thing. It seems harmless, but I have no idea what purpose it really serves or why 2K is really interested in luring players to link it.

@Henri Christophe You can connect it in the main menu in Civ VI with the button in the lower righthand corner.

Probably marketing data. Similar to why you get clubcards etc with supermarkets, it's really useful for companies to track what you're doing. The only difference is that rather than getting a discount in some form on the necessities of life, your scout can stroke his cat.

Except I'm fairlyt sure marketing data is feed through the app through analytics, so there's not much use of an account to begin with.

It's probably for their shareholders "Look how many people are signed up".

Incidentally I've never played CIV III but recently I watched a video on YouTube of what the leaders looked like and it was very much a WTH moment...
Someone get the poor Mongols a good dental plan and Joan D'Arc a wig!

I'm not sure how a gold reward for conquering is comparable to free monuments. Buy monuments with the gold you got from capturing? I'd rather have the monument up front to beeline Oligarchy while taking it out of the build orders to set up my expands, encampment, and Legion pre builds. I suspect Trajan's Legion rush will be swifter in most cases, and timing is everything. The late game gold seems negligible due to pillaging w/ raid and trade routes stretching across Rome's empire. Still, I'm excited to try out new, free content.
