Late Night with Takhisis and Hygro

Can we have more Germans?
Dear Lucy,
Of course! With mustard on them?
Dear TakGro,

Is Beer-Bratwurst the finest sausage that god ever gave to man, and the only real point of owning a grill?
Dear Sommerswerd,
Oh no, there's a lot more things for which you can and should use a grill. I wonder if Dr. Hygro would approve of adding a cookery section to this thread.

if you drop by South America or South California I am sure that bacon and beer can be arranged.

I have been thinking of returning to South America actually, but which part of it do you mean?

Dear warpus,
The parts where I live in! Buenos Aires, capital of Brazil!
Speaking of South America...

Dear TakGro,

Should the Rio Olympics be moved or postponed because of the Zika virus scare?
Dear Sommerswerd,
We do not know enough about epidemiology and disease control to give you such an answer.

Dear warpus,
The parts where I live in! Buenos Aires, capital of Brazil!

I have actually been sort of wanting to go back to Patagonia, but to see it more from the Argentinian side. Last time, in 2008, we flew into Santiago, and then mainly stayed on the Chilean side of southern Patagonia... Spent maybe 4-5 days or so in Ushuaia, Argentina, and that's all of Argentina that I've seen.

A trip has been brewing in my head over the last couple months which would see me flying into Buenos Aires actually, this is a very rough outline:

- Fly into Buenos Aires, spend some time there
- Maybe spend a couple days somewhere else
- Get to El Chalten somehow, spend some time there, do some hikes, see Fitz Roy, Perito Moreno Glacier, maybe some other stuff
- Get down to Puerto Williams, Chile somehow and do the Dientes de Navarino hike
- Maybe spend a bit of time in Argentinian Tierra del Fuego that isn't Ushuaia

Just a very vague idea of a trip, and no other trip other than Iceland is calling my name right now.. It's not an easy hike though, so I have to be sure I'm actually willing to do it.. I might have to do with with other hikers, we'll see. Either way, something like this might be happening at some point in the near future. From what I remember the time to go is November-February-ish and I have about 4 weeks vacation saved up right now, and an extra week off during Christmas time.. but that's the expensive time to fly.

So either way, wall of text, but your idea is not as outlandish as it sounds, I might be in Buenos Aires at some point in the next year and a half.

Having said that, you're also saying that Buenos Aires is the capital of Brazil, so you might be crazy, so I might be staying away from you when I'm there :p

Dear warpus, you claim that you've been only/mostly to the Chilean side of Patagonia. That sounds unlikely, as the Chileans consider that all of Patagonia belongs to them.

They also have a statue in Santiago that has its butt facing towards Argentina, to signify their general disdain of all things Argentinian.

I also found it very amusing the way lakes and other geographical features split in two have very nationalistic and quite different names on both sides of the border.

Dear FriendlyFire,
You should check the rulebook.

Russian is going to be hosting Eurovision 2017 D:
(The runner up will host, currently Australia and Russia are the favourites )

The art of the matter is not to win it.
(Ireland made the mistake of winning it three times on the trot before they caught on.)

And the fact that nobody wants to win it goes a long way in explaining why all the "music" is crap.

But why ?
Dont the winner get like euromonies and sell albums and launch music careers ?

Dear Mr Takgro,

To what extent do you consider the collective unconscious to be humanity's most coherent approach to the concept of a deity - or atman - so far?

Dear Mr Takgro,

Dear Borachio,

That would be a God.

Yes. But to what extent, if at all, does the collective conscious differ from God?

Seems to me like a credible explanation for the phenomenon. It ticks all the boxes: untestable, omnipotent (in a human centric way), omniscient (obviously), omnipresent (assuming you're human) etc.

Dear takgro

Why does the song "Seven Drunken Nights" only describe five drunken nights? Are there two lost verses?

Dear BvBPL

The final verses are DLC because they are rated M.

Dear Hygro,
you are right. And a dear.

Dear Takhgro,

I've been thinking about riddles and logical fallacies that could lead to some fun logic problems. I want to pose them to people, but I can't think of the best medium for this. I thought I should create a thread here, but I think I did that some years ago and the result was that people tried for a little bit before they started posing riddles of their own, and nothing got answered. I could pose them to people in person, but they might not want to take the time to really think of the answer and would quickly give up. Posing riddles and problems on dating sites met with lack of response, as did posing them to animals, both wild and domestic. Rocks too were silent, though trees rustled and sea-waves crashed in some kind of mystifying response. A written medium posed to humans would seem to be best. But which?

Dear Phrossack,

Now RD threads exist; you could also start it in the forum games subforum and, as the GM, you would be the only one allowed to post riddles.

Dear Takgro,

Why, oh why, am I so...?

And why can't I be more...?

And wouldn't it be a good idea if I was a little bit..., too?

Thank you very much for all your help in the past. And future.
