Moar Units Mod

MOAR Units Mod 1.2

Deliverator updated [Civ VI] Moar Units Mod with a new update entry:

Moar Units 0.6 Update

Gameplay Changes

* Added Landsknecht for Germany and removed the German Hussar. The Landsknecht replaces the Pikeman. It is half the cost of the Pikeman but can only be purchased with gold. The cost scales with each purchase.
* Ghazi now gets +5 combat strength if fighting a unit from a player with a different religion.
* Medicine Man can now ONLY be purchased with Faith. The cost scales based on each new unit that is purchased.
* Conquistador now upgrades to Rifleman. The bonus from...

Deliverator,

Thank you for your work on the latest update. Also want to thank Horem and janboruta for their help to make this great mod even better.
Much appreciated.

An additional tier for the scout/ ranger-tree would be great, like some modern recon unit.

I've been playing with the Expanded Recon Class mod along side Moar Units. With a few tweaks it works quite well. The mod itself has an issue with Rangers not upgrading properly to Snipers but as I mention in the mod discussion there is an simply fix. The only compatibility type issue that I have had to address so far is the upgrade for the Brazilian Bandeirante to properly become a Sniper.

Quick question, I didn't see any pictures anywhere, but do the T-34 and the Panzer have their own models or are they using the stock Sherman model until Firaxis (hopefully) releases mod tools?

Forgive me for being dense, but i'm not understanding how to install this correctly to my Mods folder.

The checkbox for Moar Units appears in "Additional Content" and is checked, yet when I set up a game and hit the Start Game button, I get the black screen that says "Loading...." for a bit, then it says "Start Game" and just boots me back to the blue main menu screen.

I'm assuming the video installation directions were for pre-winter patch, so I did not follow those instructions...

The folder that should be copied to the Mods folder should be called MOAR_Units. It should contain a file called MOAR_Units.modinfo and some other files and directories. Is that the case? Do you have any other mods enabled?

I was running NQ UI, NQ Balance and YNAMP but I since disabled all of them and your mod seems to work as intended. I guess there is a conflict there, I'll have to go through one by one and see if the game will load. I made a faulty assumption that these would work, because none of them mess with the tech tree or units.

I would bet your problem is NQ balance, it does make some changes to unit upgrade lines and classes.

Yep, that was it. D'oh!
I guess I'll have to look for a mod that buffs coastal resources, anyone in the thread happen to use one that is confirmed to be conflict-free?

edit, changed the link to CivFanatics

Here is my modpack. It has...a lot in it...but it you should give it a try. Don't run ANY other mods, but DO enable all DLC.

Pertinent to this discussion, it contains 95% of Moar Units, CQUI (which is currently more developed than HBUI by a small but noticeable margin), and the sea resources changes from NQ.

You can give it a try, different people have had different results. Some people have reported incompatibility between CQUI and YnAMPS.

I tend to play on HBMaps from the NQ mod, which is compatible.

I'm really enjoying this mod, it adds a lot of flavor to the game!

I know this has probably been asked before, but has anyone noted the AI using the new units effectively? It would increase my enjoyment to know for sure that the AI is taking full advantage of the new units (well, as much as this AI can). Thanks!

...and while we are at it, can anyone please confirm if the AI is actually buying units that can only be bought with gold (like the new MOAR-Landsknecht)? Because that wasn't the case in Civ5.
Please note: In Civ5 it only seemed that the AI would buy units, but as stated by whoward69 who created the VMC-DLL, they would only rush unit-production, instead of buying. Therefore they never got any units with the purchasable only-flag.

Thanks for the hint, I already considered using this mod before, but I really don't want to replace core-files and new unit graphics would also be nice addition. :)

Managed to finish drawing flag icons for all currently included units (and possibly some upcoming ones). Just a teaser for now.
