NES World/Regional Maps III

I'm not talking about Japan itself. I'm saying that the colors of the Japanese Empire (China, Manchuko, Pacific Islands) are too similar to those of the United States.

It's probably just me, though. I do think the colors should be further apart, but you see to see them fine.

Well, I like the colors of Japan because I want the colony colors to relate to the proper-country colors.

Perhaps I can switch the US's color with one of the darker blue nations.

No, they aren't copyrighted. I'm not sure about legal policy involving these things on forums. It's not for any sort of profit, though I'd happily mod for money.

mainly the coasts. I can get the shapes down, but the coast end up looking to straight and unnatural.
any other tips would be good.

There's always the Planets! thread.

Using a gradient of white-white-white-white-white-black-white-white-white-white-white would get you outlines of continents, roughly.
