New call for Rhye's and Fall of Civilization

Stoked to see movement on Rhye'5 and Fall. I'm still playing Civ 4 way more than 5, purely because 4 has Rhye's and 5 doesn't yet.

The same is happening to me. When I look to the pictures at http://rhye.civfanatics.net/ I see the true beauty that civIV RFC had. 95% of my plays at civIV were in RFC. If there weren't so good civs in GaK I would have stop playing civV.

The point is: when will we see the mod? Please tell us rhye. Even if it lasts 1 or 2 years.

The creation of the mod/scenario is probably difficult, I agree. But can't you add more that 22 civs to the game and when the 23rd is rising, the AI civ with less stability starts to fall? Then you will have 22 civs at a time but more playable.

The vanilla version seems too simple. I mean, some awsom civs like Sweden or the Celts (modern, island Celts) should be at the game! And some more civilizations should appear like Portugal or some Zulu/Bantu.

In my opinion, a version for vanilla is good because some people do not have DLC and GaK. It is way better than making them buy those features only to play a (brilliant) mod.

But making ONLY a vanilla version is removing 1/2 the spirit of RFC. One of the game differences between RFC in civ IV and civ V is the civs that can be used. I would like a game with Sweden and Denmark instead of one with Vikings. Also I have seen in this thread a nice idea: Poland-Lithuania. It had an important role in political history of Europe and would be great to play them in Rhye's and Fall of Civilization. Just as Portugal (RFC is not the same without the Portuguese explorers) and the Iroquois, Mayas, Incas... I don't think you should remove some civs, just adapt them to the different contexts (vanilla, X,Y,Z DLCs, GaK) and perhaps create some (it is not difficult to create) that are only available if you play Rhye's and Fall of Civilization (i.e., unofficial civilizations).

I know it sounds a lot of work, but will improve the mod in a better way. Scandinavian and Iberian Wars. The invasions of Poland, the colonization of the new world... The mod will be a lot better.

I wish I could help in this mod (I do not know how to mod in civV)

Rhye, if you can finish this with all the spectacular unique features present in civV, you will become the king of many players :D

Shine on You?? Try to put Pink Floyd, please!!

In the first versions (before Firaxis included the mod in Bts) it actually was the true "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" :D

Well that makes much more sense. Now it's just an almost Pink Floyd thing, which is still immensly cool though.

With the recent news its looking like Rhyes could possible happen (so I can ressurect this game that I have only played a handful of times)? Or am I just grasping at straws?

Actually been playing Rhyes for Civ IV over the past week or so for the first time.

Really loving it so far but the one thing that does make me wish the CiV version was out was the military tactics.

Anyone else agree? I feel one unit type per tile (or just one unit) does greatly benefit how you go about attacking and such. Often times I just felt the AI (and myself to an extent) was just throwing a bunch of units into a stack and attacking.

Yeah, the "stack of doom" combat model is one of the really bad things about Civ4 (this was discussed numerous times in other parts of this forum). On the other hand, one unit per tile combat is much harder for the AI, hence the problems it has in Civ5...

Nvmind.

Quick question , the map size sounds a little small for 1upt (to me). Will we see an enlarged version possibly?

now the dll is out, are we going to have RHYEs any time in the future?

I would like to know this as well. I know nothing about DLL or modding except the fact that DLL seems to be what has been holding up all the great modding. I mean, when i played civ4 i had a plethera of great works. Rhyes, Rise, FFH, Dawn, im missing a bunch but im old, so forgive me. So far in Civ 5 i see civ nights and thats about it as far as total conversion stuff goes. Please say this will change. I cant play this game anymore because the AI is such a joke and its just lacking for some reason i cant really put a finger on it. For awhile it was fun while learning. Than just to see how bad i could beat the computer into submission. Now its just down right boring. Please tell me there is a reason to play again coming very soon.....

We at Community Call to Power endeavor to make a mod for Civilization V akin to RoM or C2C for Civilization IV, now that the Civilization V DLL editor has been released. Drop by at our Project and Mod Development Forum!

I wonder when this will take off again... or maybe it already has! Maybe Rhye is working on this in secret and is just going to spring the initial release on us as a surprise! Probably not, but it's a nice thought...

Wow only just stumbled across this! I hardly played 'normal' civ4 again after RfC came out! Has there been any word since the dll release?

I don't mean to rush things, but, while waiting, do you think we could maybe have some new screenshots soon Rhye..? Preferably maybe of Japan in the medieval era, and China fighting Mongolia in the 1200s...? Also, will Historical Victories still occur? I play mainly as Japan, So theirs would be nice to know...please. Thank you.:)

Rhye's answer from another thread:

That's awesome. Full control over nearly everything in your civilization.. I wonder what they all do.. So, policies are going alongside the government choices? If so, that could make me powerful..:)

Reading from the other thread, government choices will affect stability only be and open to human players only, as the point is for AI civs to collapse.

what thread is that? What made Rhye so awesome I think, is the single concept of unique victory conditions. It made the whole game replayable so many times.
