pre-release info New civ guide: America

Well, at least now we know where the lime green color scheme comes from (Lafayette). Since Tubman is blue and Franklin is red.
I wonder why he has that color. It's not in the La Fayette coat of arms.

I would ask the same of Franklin being red, but... I suppose they can't all be blue.

I will be irritated until they let you pick your teamcolor. Should be easy to do and no reason not to allow it, since the colors aren't even tied to a civilization; we don't need an elaborate jersey system.

I hadn't thought about it before, but I think the Prospector is our first truly "Unique" Unit in VII: It doesn't replace or follow the rules of another unit. I wonder if any other Civilizations will have something similar? It's something to keep in mind with gameplay concepts, at least. Have we had something like this in a previous game?

Isn't it a unique merchant?

Isn't it a unique merchant?
Not according to the game guide (though it has been wrong in the past.) It seems like its only job is claiming tiles.

Something like it how? really different from its base unit? The Merchant of Venice in Civ V operated very differently from an ordinary merchant.

As in having no base unit at all.

The Great Person UUs have no base unit
They don't, but it's also a template used by a good number of Civilizations. Who knows, maybe there will be another non-replacement "instant land grab" unit in the remaining Civs. For now, though, the Prospector stands out as a fully unique concept in the roster.

I thought they called it a merchant in the livestream. :dunno:
