It's tempting, but I don't like changing my avatar. I'm known as a weird person.

Just to gauge interest, would anyone be up for a reboot of my old NES, SMW, starting in 1922?

It was my first serious attempt at modding, and arguably the only semi-successful one. It took place in what was essentially Harry Turtledove Timelime 101's Universe, where the South won the war, with the help of the British and French. Which set up an interesting type of World War 1, with the United States allied to Germany, and the Confederates to the Entente. My first NES took place from 1914-1921, in which the war was fought, and won by the Central Powers, peace terms were dished out, and a different Russian Civil War started up.

I'd start it in 1922, as Europe is still in turmoil, as the victors struggle with their massive new gains, and quasi-fascist movements start in France, Spain and (sort of) the south. If you've read TL-101, it has so far followed the same route, entirely through player action interestingly enough.

So far, I've established semi-reasonable man-power stats, doing research into adjusted economic stats for nations, and have some other kinks to work out in the ruleset. The map itself is going to be finished in just a bit, I'll post it on here for you to take a look at.

Sounds exciting.

Heh, I wonder if anybody's ever tried to do a TL 191 NES. Like, starting from 1871 or whenever the Civil War ends in TL-191 (I've never actually read it.) It might be interesting to watch the chaos unfold, and NESers seem to like upholding the longterm international grudges that are really pervasive in that series. :p

I'm interested in playing SMW. I missed it before! :p

I'd be happy to have you. Coincidentally, just upgraded the map.

All changes to the map were player made, and it is as true to the original as I felt necessary. I might have made a few borders look a bit more natural here and there; but voila.

LoE is currently writing an incredibly in-depth overview of the Great War, so new players will understand what they've missed.

@ LizKing : One correction, Indian subcontinent had some minor occupation by the Portuguese and the French as well. especially, southern and western coastal regions .

If we're reserving countries, can I claim the United States?

Either way, looks interesting. The 20ies and 30ies are my favourite period of history, there's a lot of really interesting stuff going on there that would be very cool in a TL-191 framework.

EDIT: Redacted, as I have a few offers for each nation, and don't want to claim spots just yet.

@Bonefang

I am aware of French and Portuguese possessions in India, as they are relatively small I haven't really included them on the map, along with nations like San Marino, Andorra, Liechtenstien, etc. If it is of the opinion of my players that they should be included, I'd be happy to make the alterations. :)

Yeah they were like 1-2 towns ... both of them are now hawt party stations:p Anyways, claim for Japan ?

uh, but I was going to claim Andorra! :(

Also, is it me or Ethiopia is Spanish?

No, Ethiopia has a different colour than Spain. Spain does have a colony in Guinea, and another near Liberia (that's what it looks like).

I also find interesting the fact that Colombia here has the colour normally used by Spain...

I'd take the Andean Confederation (or whatever the combination of Peru and Chile is called), Brazil or Australia. In the latter case, I might work towards an unification with New Zealand... :D

I have no clue who had these nations, so I'm just going to throw some claims out there and hope I get something reserved.

1. Germany

2. Russia

3. Brazil

4. Sweden

I'm interested, and I'll go ahead and take Germany.

EDIT: stupid ninja Nintz :p Japan is my second choice. That A-H blob thing is my third. Didn't play the original though,.
