One thing that helps is being open to trading with the AIs for luxs early. I always buy 1-2 luxs even at “bad” prices if it lets me secure my core cities while staying afloatNote to self: stop expanding so much early game or 34 unhappiness

the installer checks your registry for civ’s install location. It can’t know where you’ve moved stuff if your registry is wrong.
I have my MODS folder in the D: drive, and it was always there. I'll try disabling some mods and see if it fixes itself, but if not - then I'll have to look into it. It worked fine before except with EUI giving me 1 movement through fog so unless if there's new files I don't imagine what could be the cause. Yes, I have the UI_bc1 folder in my DLC, though it is in a modified position. This is a bug and seems to be a common issue with the installer. If the original game has been installed (installed, not moved!) to a drive other than C:, the installer does not run correctly!

That makes us two. I have that CTD and don't know what to do with that fix either.
At least I got to turn 303, and turn 306 when replaying from a save a few turns earlier.
By the way, welcome to the forums. When you say you have played this for years, had me think of myself and my own history of playing this game for years. The other day I thought to myself that I'll probably play this for life. Sometimes I have many months (even up to one year) away from it, but Vox populi is such an amazing experience, so it always has me coming back for more eventually!
Would be very nice indeed.I was right about to upgrade my Swordsman to Samurai and crush Siam when I got this CTD
I see Dr. Ilteroi has already fixed the problem
Is there anyway someone can push a 1.0.2 or please give me instructions on how to load the dll. Thanks!
I didn't move anything manually. But perhaps this bug is just when one uninstalls civ5 from C and newly installs to D (I think I did that). I think it is with UI_bc1 folder only, because the MODS folder is recognized correctly.the installer checks your registry for civ’s install location. I tried to start a new game but got this same CTD during city states turn. It seems to happen only when being at war for some reason (as far as I have noticed so far).
I'm gonna pause Civ untill 1.0.2 is up.![]()
For those experiencing a crash, try replacing your GameCoreDLL_Expansion2 DLL file in MODS > (1) Community Patch with this one, and see if that fixes it. Savegame compatible.

I'm not sure if this explains it, but I'm using whoward's airbase mod like I have in previous games, except now my builders are making them well before I have unlocked the requirement tech (flight). I'll reload a save 20 turns before the CTD and try that, otherwise I'll just start a new game without that particular mod
And be aware that AI is absolutly unable to understand, as you do, where and why to built an airbase.I'll just start a new game without that particular mod
Is it just me or have the difficulty levels been nerfed? Emperor difficulty feels pretty easy for me after returning from a few months' hiatus
