Note to self: stop expanding so much early game or 34 unhappiness
One thing that helps is being open to trading with the AIs for luxs early. I always buy 1-2 luxs even at “bad” prices if it lets me secure my core cities while staying afloat

Not if you only luxuries are jungle plantation
and if you're authority with the events messing you up.

This is a bug and seems to be a common issue with the installer. If the original game has been installed (installed, not moved!) to a drive other than C:, the installer does not run correctly!

See:

I have my MODS folder in the D: drive, and it was always there. I'll try disabling some mods and see if it fixes itself, but if not - then I'll have to look into it. It worked fine before except with EUI giving me 1 movement through fog so unless if there's new files I don't imagine what could be the cause. Yes, I have the UI_bc1 folder in my DLC, though it is in a modified position.
Forgot to add - EUI works in normal civ 5. This has to be a mod conflict.

I’m playing Ethiopia on Emperor difficulty right now and the enemy spying is ridiculous. I have 10/10 security in my capital from building public works, installing a rank 3 spy to hunt for spies and got the spy defense from Rationalism, but a single damn enemy spy has wiped out 2000 production on my wonder three times in 6 turns. I had burned a great engineer to knock down 5000 production.

That makes us two. I have that CTD and don't know what to do with that fix either.

At least I got to turn 303, and turn 306 when replaying from a save a few turns earlier. :crazyeye:

By the way, welcome to the forums. When you say you have played this for years, had me think of myself and my own history of playing this game for years. The other day I thought to myself that I'll probably play this for life. Sometimes I have many months (even up to one year) away from it, but Vox populi is such an amazing experience, so it always has me coming back for more eventually!

I was right about to upgrade my Swordsman to Samurai and crush Siam when I got this CTD :undecide:

I see Dr. Ilteroi has already fixed the problem

Is there anyway someone can push a 1.0.2 or please give me instructions on how to load the dll. Thanks!

Would be very nice indeed.

I tried to start a new game but got this same CTD during city states turn. It seems to happen only when being at war for some reason (as far as I have noticed so far).

I'm gonna pause Civ untill 1.0.2 is up. :)

Is it just me or have the difficulty levels been nerfed? Emperor difficulty feels pretty easy for me after returning from a few months' hiatus

the installer checks your registry for civ’s install location. It can’t know where you’ve moved stuff if your registry is wrong.
I didn't move anything manually. But perhaps this bug is just when one uninstalls civ5 from C and newly installs to D (I think I did that). I think it is with UI_bc1 folder only, because the MODS folder is recognized correctly.

See my post above. Also happened for me, and I have always had my civ on d:... UI_bc1 seems to always go on the c: no matter where it actually needs to go.

Nope, I haven't gone to war in my game and it's happening

Just installed 1.0.1 didn't get too far as I spied on a neighbour for science and got a bonus, and chose a tech and all the tree said 1 turn. Next turn I chose another tech, next turn another etc., until I was obviously so far ahead in science I chose to stop the game as it wouldn't be a challenge.

For those experiencing a crash, try replacing your GameCoreDLL_Expansion2 DLL file in MODS > (1) Community Patch with this one, and see if that fixes it. Savegame compatible.

Still getting the CTD in the same place. I tried with and without clearing cache

Thanks alot! It acctually worked for me so far! I'm many turns past that CTD now. Strangely enough, I had what seemed to be the same CTD as described by Jdoug312.

I'm not sure if this explains it, but I'm using whoward's airbase mod like I have in previous games, except now my builders are making them well before I have unlocked the requirement tech (flight). I'll reload a save 20 turns before the CTD and try that, otherwise I'll just start a new game without that particular mod

Let me know how it goes!
