Time for round two and the silly rationalization of my picks.
Buffalo vs. New York
One thing Shanahan brings is leadership. Sounds like a weak explanationan and an abstract concept, but his presence alone makes this team better. Sean Avery looks like another Darcy Tucker these days partly because of him. Jagr has to work harder with a veteran like him in the room. Nylander and Lunqvist have also stepped it up in the first round. But Buffalo is a better team. Miller is as good as Lunqvist, if not better. Like I said before, their depht is just crazy.

New Jersey vs. Ottawa
Still hate Lamoriello. Still hate Devils hockey.
That being said, they are a tremendous hockey machine. Their roster is as deep as Buffalo's, but more in their style (Madden, Pandolfo, Brylin, Dowd). Their first line (Elias-Gomez-Gionta) has been doing very well. Parise is the leading goal scorer with six. Langenbrunner is a seasonned playoff performer. Brodeur is, you know, Brodeur. I hate the team, but I think there's not one player I wouldn't take on my own team. Ottawa is really good. Not sure I need to explain why. Their support from other players than their stars has been great. Fisher, Neil, Vermette, Kelly, Schaefer. Plus their d is amazing and Emery is solid.

Detroit vs. San Jose
I'm still waiting for Thornton to choke. I'm also not a fan of Craig Rivet and after his twelve years in Habsville, I don't understand how is it that he plays so many minutes in San Jose and spends all that time on the powerplay. Something's not right. And San Jose's d will be great in the years to come, but as of now guys like Carle, Ehrohoff and Vlasic and too inexperienced in the playoffs. It's not going to be easy for the Wings, but now that Datsyuk and Zetterberg have shaken their playoffs jinx, that Bertuzzi is coming alive, that Holmstrom (like Langenbrunner in NJ) is on, that guys like Maltby and Draper are still around, they'll be tough to beat. Chelios is fukcing amazing.

Anaheim vs. Vancouver
Biggest mismatch of the second round. Vancouver has no business being there. Luongo is great, but not that great. And the Ducks have two goaltenders who can do the job.
