It came as people in parts of Argentina were preparing to go to the polls for local elections.
Well that's an... interesting coincidence...

Tried to go for a bike ride yesterday and barely made it out of the garage with back pain. It wasn't my sciatica, this time a section of my spine right between my shoulder blades started hurting something fierce. I've learned that laying around all day when you have back problems is basically the worst thing for you but at the same time, it would have been really dumb to have continued with the bike ride. I hope this is just a temporary thing and doesn't become an ongoing issue like my sciatica. It feels like I need to crack my back but I can't. It's much better today but I'm not going to push my luck.

Go for a walk or a jog instead, if you can. Like you say, movement is good for the back.

Does cracking the back actually improve anything? I've not found it doing much for me when I've tried it.

@hobbsyoyo idk if you've tried this but see if you can find some kind of movement in a hot pool, when I was lifeguarding at a gym back in Jersey there were exercise classes and physical therapy sessions in the "therapy pool" which was heated to, IIRC, a little over 90 degrees F. That might help your back.

I did chores yesterday and cooked dinner which kept me mobile. Today I am going to go for a long walk instead of lifting and riding my back to give me more time to heal.

Usually when this area of my back is a bit sore, cracking it helps but not this time. This is quite a bit worse pain wise than normal soreness and came close to sciatica levels of pain. It's mostly gone today though. I'm not even sure what I did to hurt it so I could avoid it in the future. I wasn't having any issues until I sat on the bike and then it was like omg I can't do this I'm going to crash and die let's go home and cry

I did just this! After aborting the bike ride I limped straight to a hot tub and sat in it for half an hour. That helped quite a lot.

Oh yes the hot tub is usually in the low 100s F so that I guess would be even better. I was talking more about the movement, doing like an aqua zumba class or even mild PT sessions might help even more than just soaking in hot water.

Gotcha gotcha. Yeah I don't have access to that and the pool is still too cold for me to hop in it yet. And to be honest I didn't move too much in the hot tub when I probably should have.

You probably pulled something in your sleep. Like i did last week. Stupid back. The real fun is when you try to get out of bed with bad back pain.

Actually I slept most of the Sunday morning away so I had to endure only a couple hours of power cut. A perfect excuse not to read anything sent by customers and instead read Discworld by the window.
Well that's an... interesting coincidence...
Oh, no, that's not how it goes, given that electronic voting is not used. Of course there were other problems such as the dark rooms not being dark i.e. their windows not being covered, and so on, but that's another thing entirely. The governors and mayors managed to steal elections all right; the most egregious example was the Insfrán government in Formosa province managing to win the election for their seventh term in a row (they abolished term limits long ago) with a percentage of the vote that is coincidentally nearly the same as the proportion of total employment provided by the provincial government (70%ish in both cases).

I need Fed-Ex to hold a package for me so I can pick it up - because I can't be at home to sign for it. They told me I can ask for exactly that with just a few mouse clicks after I create an account on their website, but they demand CC info to make an account and won't accept my perfectly good debit card.

I think I have got pneumonia, and I have too much work to do.

The pipe under my kitchen sink is leaking. I couldn't have a plumber today because the security guy is off (the rule is that security has to accompany plumbers when they go to suites, in case someone tries to rob the plumber).

Rant #2: I had my PVR set to record General Hospital today. Thanks to simulcasting, what actually gets recorded is what's on the Canadian network. What was on the Canadian network was a parade and festivities because of the Raptors. I'm not even sure what sport that's about, but I am not happy at having to track my soap down elsewhere.

Rant #3: For some reason Big Fish Games has removed Kingmaker: Rise to the Throne from its website. I don't know why, but they had better have a damned good excuse, since that makes it impossible to download and play a game I already bought.

I will confess that I didn't know which sport the Raptors play until one of the later games in the championship.

Rant: There was something wrong with the milk jug and it split apart in the fridge and now there's spilled milk all over the inside.

what the what now

what the what now
Seriously. The last time I had an emergency situation with the kitchen sink and the plumber had to come around 3 am, the security guard had to be here, too.

Apparently plumbers' tools are expensive black-market items. :dunno:

Robbing a plumber sounds scary. I'd expect to get knocked out with a wrench or pipe or something.
