My PC is being a huge ******* for no apparent reason. The entire thing is locking like a brick every 5-10 minutes and I have no idea why. Thermals are perfectly fine. Event Viewer isn't telling me jack. It isn't even running this reboot, I can't open it.

It was perfectly fine yesterday. Uptime of over a month. I come home today and the fans are jet engines despite running 32C GPU and 50C CPU. The monitor is asleep but won't come up when I shake the mouse. I killed the power. Now it's broken. I swear to god it's Oculus Software again. The last time I had these problems it all went away when I uninstalled everything Oculus. I don't know why they are such incompetent *******s.

Now I'm having to endure Val Doonican and other atrocities against music every time I go near the kitchen or lounge.

This is funny because ARRI's digital cameras are also called Alexa (all of them), and now I have trouble knowing which one people refer to instantly.

...which doesn't rule out it being update related. Running 2020 software on 2017 windows is a potential problem in the making.

Rant of today: The gym odyssee.
I'm trying to figure out to which gym to go in the new city. Last time I was at gym #1, and didn't like it a lot (weird setup, extremely crowded).
Today I went to gym #2, which is in a neighbouring street. The employee at the front desk spoke English (it's France, so hey, important), was very friendly, showed me around, and it turns out this gym doesn't have free weights. Okay, so no. He recommended me to go to gym #1, and after I mentioned that I didn't like it he mentioned gym #3. He also mentioned it might be a bit expensive. So I was on the way to gym #3, and anyways needed to pass by #1. So I checked online how much #3 costs, and 50€ per month is too expensive. So I said "na, let's go for 1 month to #1". I go on, am at the machine to set up the membership, when an employee approaches me. To make a membership at this gym, you apparently need a slip from your bank with all your details. Which I have. At home. The f why that? I don't think anyone would pay their gym membership with a stolen credit card or something like that. So, I walk out, and still want to do sports, I took the bus into the center already. So I walk over to gym #4 (yeah, densely packed in this area, but not a single one close to where I live). A small gym, not from a chain. The owner speaks English, walks me around and shows me everything. Small, but nice setup, and not too crowded. I couldn't find the price on the website before. Should've been a warning sign. By default, a single day costs 15€, a month freakin' 90€, and a year 550€. I go a lot to the gym, but this is outrageous. He cuts me a deal, which they have this week (lol, sure). If I don't want to go to any of the classes (I don't), then it'll be 350€ for a year. That's <30€ per month, that's okay. But I told him that I might move soon (I'm really looking for an apartment), so that I'd rather only take 1 month now. The next apartment I'm visiting is in this area though (not a lie). So he cuts me another deal, makes it 60€ for one month (need to pay in cash, because, you know, the deal...), and if I make it a year, I only need to pay the remaining 290. Since I anyways need to go to one of the gyms, this is actually not a bad option. It turns out to be not very crowded later (well, guess what, not many people will pay that), so that's nice.
And then I go to the toilet, and there's no toilet paper.
Really?
For that price there's no toilet paper on the only male toilet?
I expect silk toilet paper for that price. Seriously .

Anyways, let's hope it's normally as empty as it was today, then I'll actually go there, but today was really annoying.

Dominoes really upped its game in the last 10 years.

Ten years ago...or actually even longer...I rated their game as so far below standards that I have no newer personal experience. If I were desperately short of pizza places I would take your opinion into consideration because I do value it, but truthfully four non-Dominoes pizza options within four blocks so i am actually the opposite of desperate. Admittedly one of those options is a Little Caeser's, and they are buried just as far down my abandoned list as Domino's, but still.

I see their ads go by and never seem to notice anything significantly better price wise than the avalanche of Pizza Hut coupons that I receive gives me. Pizza Hut isn't the greatest, but they are a lot better than I remember Domino's being back when I was still open to trying them.

Dominos has gotten a lot better lately, and their crust is outstanding. It comes close to the same quality as my local 'gourmet' pizza place
