Random Rants LXIX: Life is a Dismal Chore

Actually there's a hilarious glitch with one of the premade families in which a dog can end up as the father of some unborn babies. Yeah.
Did any fans make a patch that makes the police show up to arrest your sim for bestiality when that happens?

Came in from store with some groceries in a box, including a gallon jug of orange juice. Box breaks. juice jug hits floor. Jug breaks. Gallon of OJ on the floor. :hammer2:

I remember that! (I always deleted that family before ever adding them to a neighbourhood.) I think that one of the biggest providers of fan-patches warned of a BFBVFS - a Big Flaming Ball, Visisble From Space.

J.M. Pescado. He's an interesting character. My last neighbourhood actually died in a pretty dramatic fashion. I only got it to even open up after a lot of finagling with game files, and at least half of my Sims had just completely vanished from the game itself.

Not that I know of (though that would be hilarious). Though even when their paternity isn't in question, they have some rather...unique faces:
Spoiler :

Though despite that, they're actually one of my favourite families to play.

I pulled a muscles yesterday in the gym.
Which itself isn't exactly rant-worthy, but it's so bad that I cannot sleep and paracetamol didn't help.
That's why I'm now at work at 6AM, waiting until the apothecary here opens to get some diclofenac, and then work until either 2PM or until my brain doesn't want anymore.
Yay.

EDIT: I have to say the word "apothecary" looks seriously written wrong.

...maybe my brain already doesn't want to.

Australia, you're drunk, go home.

As i have previously noted Canadia and Australia are pathetic at soccer, nobody wants to see them play, they're stealing spots from countries that actually care about the sport and are a heck of a lot better at it.
And while pathetic Canadia has at least the decency to buy themselves into what they don't deserve (hello WC26), Australia is just freeriding on the mere alure of their ad market and their cheaterish continent switcheroo.
Usually this involves beating the feces out of Iraq - figuratively, after having helped doing so less figuratively.

Fine, i have gotten used to this nonsense.
But now suck-at-soccer-Australia has found a new low:

Really Australia?
You're serious?

Anyway, i can only recommend - again - the option of qualifying as Europeans.

'Murica?
What have you done?!

How could you let everyone down like that? You had one actual job here. One job.
You are cute, everybody likes you for a change. You have nobody who boos your anthem, you play a bit of actually half-way passable soccer. It's bubbly, cheerful, optimistic, friendly, slightly girlish soccer, you know, like your country (or like it used to be), you muddle through your group and then you lose to Switzerland or Sweden or whoever. And everybody is happy.
Bing, bang, boom. World cup. Easy.

You had one job!
To spare us Australia at the WC.

This is why it helps to buy beverages in either cartons or plastic jugs. Less risk o spillage and no broken glass to clean up.

Of course the tradeoff is that it doesn't taste as good.

You spelled it correctly.

It snowed here. :(
Here, too, but it didn't stay.

I should think that after several months of forest fires, snow would be welcome. It sure put out one of our big ones here.

Is it normal to have forest fires in Alberta in mid oktober? Or is that, like, late?

Jug was plastic. It was just plastic which was too thin to survive the drop to the floor.

So I just heard from a friend in my previous position how a student managed to get two awards totaling a hundred grand. I fail to see how giving a graduate student a six-figure income increases their research output (read: is a good use of Canadian tax dollars in academia).

My mind is full of regrets of what I done in my past life in the past years since 2009.

I wished I had a time machine to prevent all of that from happening or given a second chance to start with a clean slate.

With that money, you buy equipment, chemicals, or pay partially for a technician. Will for sure be used for science.
It was given to the student, not the lab.

Since changing the past is unlikely, it is now time to look ahead and act appropriately.

So apparently Shadow of War is like 90 gigs or some nonsense, that's going to take me like 4 days.

It's all that content that you are going to have to buy through their online casino microtransactions.

EDIT: I'm not buying Shadow of War specifically because it has microtransactions in it. I don't care if they are voluntary and I don't care if I can get everything they offer through normal grinding, it's the principle of the matter. I want microtransactions to disappear from gaming so I am doing my part to try to make that happen.

Anything by EA/Ubisoft has microtransactions in it. Shadow of War appears to make them compulsory by adopting a freemium strategy in a commercial AAA game.
