Random Rants LXXXIX: I HATE MOVING!

I had to check if it's too hot or too cold.

25 Celsius...I wish it was that way here. Autumn here is cold and most of all, wet. Temperatures between 5-15 Celsius are far worse with high humidity.

Here it's around the 20s, and it's great :D.

But rant:
The kernel just killed a long-running process, because I thought it was smart to start multiple other calculations at the same time, running out of RAM.
Now I have here a 70GB clump of data which is to an unknown amount finished, and will just need to restart it again >.<

Unrelated rant:
Skin rash on my testicles >.<
Need go to to the doctor to figure out if it's a fungus or just the immune system going mad. Can't self-medicate (despite having either), because if guessed wrong it'll just make everything worse.
Brilliant .

Keep your undies dry man.

95% chance it's just jock itch. Weirdly, I only get it when I stay in Seattle. I've never had it here.

Speaking of temperatures, while I was in the hospital my roommate had the landlord raise our thermostat to 26 C/79 F and it is miserable. Floor heating makes me feel ill. I hate it, and even with the window open it doesn't let up. Luckily, I have a window fan now, so circulating the cold air from outside works.

Which is actually a fungal infection ;).
I'll most likely go on Monday to the doctor. Treating a fungal infection will take 6 weeks, and I'm supposed to visit my GF again in 7, so somewhat time critical ^^.

You can't regulate it yourself o_O?
I'd say I'm surprised, but with your situation, no, not anymore lol.

Six weeks for jock itch treatment? Three days of an OTC cream and it's gone for me.

Locked in a box.

I checked, seems we're both wrong ^^.
First: Seems that this can be confused with other type of skin rashes, there 3 days might work.
Otherwise the general recommendation is 2-4 weeks (e.g. https://www.health.harvard.edu/a_to_z/jock-itch-tinea-cruris-a-to-z ).
I'd lean towards 4, because antibiotic treatment normally takes 10-14 days, and fungi are a damn lot hardier than bacteria.
I think I might have the 6 weeks in mind from the last time when I was with such issues at the doctor. No clue what it was, but it was a lot worse and antifungals, antibiotics and cortison took like 3 months in total.

Why o_O?

Probably the landlord pays for the utilities.

Vinegar works against fungal infections.

Is White Vinegar Antifungal?
White vinegar has been proven to be a natural home antifungal product. White vinegar can be used to treat a number of fungal problems or infections.

Not many people know that, but it is a great (and cheap) way of curing a fungal problem, without having to take a trip to the doctors or chemist. It really is amazing just how much you can do at home in order to cure any kind of fungal infection.

Below we have provided a quick breakdown of how you can use white vinegar as a way of treating a fungal infection. For the purpose of the below instructions, we have chosen the fungal infection athlete’s foot to demonstrate the process. However, the same process can be applied to other forms of fungal infections.

Step 1
Mix approximately 3 tablespoons of white vinegar with ½ a cup of baking soda.

Step 2
Stir the white vinegar and baking soda so that it forms a creamy paste.

Step 3
Apply the creamy paste to the affected areas. You can even use white vinegar on its own (without the baking soda). However, the baking soda does make it easier to apply it to the affected area. If you make a paste, then you are far more likely to have some leftover so that you can reapply it in a few hours. Another great thing about applying the baking soda with the white vinegar is that it helps to alleviate the smell of the vinegar. We all know vinegar has quite a distinctive smell. Baking soda neutralizes this odor and refreshes your affected area.

Home remedies are my favorite a really nice share BJ. Another home-remedy that I recently found, I usually feel bloated (with gas) most of the time I used Nexium sometime to fix it, but after-a-while even that wont fixed it, a simple honey mix with a hot water really fix it for me, and I suggested the same thing for my sister and it works for her also.

Slumlords like restricting and impeding their tenants.

At 26 C, though, the concern is completely nonsensical.

:dunno: Whenever it happens, I use a cream specifically for jock itch. Maybe it is a different rash, but if it is, it's treated by the same substance.

I just dipped my toe in this far right internet chat board thing. The intersection of stupidity and evilness is kind of hard to believe. I would dismiss it as overtly stupid, but it really seems to be getting some traction. How some people here manage to regularly (I am looking at Tim here) go there I do not understand, it has made me pretty upset and will not be repeating it.
I have not been back there, but I have to post this. I only really looked at a handfull of pictures, and the least offensive (by some margin) was this one. It is the most extreme expression of Poe's Law I have seen. If I had seen it anywhere else, I would be convinced it was parody, perhaps describing it so:

The artist uses the complete lack on any humor or aesthetic appeal to bring the readers mind to the essential joylessness of the far right mindset. The fact that the cartoon as a whole, once the fantastical MRA tropes are removed, would be appropriate for the imagination of a child of the age represented is highlighted by the child repeating "Vroom Vroom". This is used to suggest as to the general level of intellectual debate found within the communities parodied by this piece.

I really do not think they mean it ironically.

Spoiler Really dodgy misogynist stupid cartoon :

Spoiler Really, it is not in the least funny or anything :

[EDIT] And then this happens, to show that people really take some of this stuff seriously:
FBI busts militia 'plot' to abduct Michigan Gov Gretchen Whitmer

The FBI says it has thwarted a plot to abduct and overthrow Michigan's Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer.

The group wished to gather about "200 men" to storm the capitol building and take hostages, including the governor. They hoped to enact their plan before the November presidential election. If that failed, they planned to attack the governor at her home, officials say.

The accused "co-ordinated surveillance of the governors' vacation home", said the US Attorney for the Western District of Michigan, adding that they also planned Molotov cocktail attacks on police officers, purchased a taser, and pooled their funds to purchase explosives and tactical equipment.

My internist screwed up all my referrals so I just spent the last hour fixing that problem. One of the new referrals is outside the network I was in, so I'll have to hope they're timely in sending my records to the other network before my consult.

I've been making good progress in reducing medication intake but I have done too much too quickly. The internist told me to reduce as I became more and more capable, and since I got my calorie intake up to 1200, I decided I'd see if I could go down to just taking it once a day. It's gone horribly and I've lost ground as a result. I started at six times a day and gradually got it down to twice, and now I am back up to three. The folly of man strikes again.

Just ordered food from the restaurant about 100m down the road. They don't do deliveries, so I have to walk there. No big deal...but once I hung up, it started to rain.

Try to be happy when it rain, when problem complicates itself.
