They shut down Zagster bike rentals. I have a bike but my wife doesn't, so now we can't ride together. :(

I don't think Zagster will be coming back to be honest. They gave us 4 hours with the bike completely free before it starts charging $1/hr. I don't think there were enough commuters who used them to get to work (that also didn't have a zagster stand at the office) to have made it cash-positive.

Unrelated, or maybe related, the frozen meal selection at the grocery store is a bit sparse. They do have what I normally eat, but it's shoved all the way to the back of the freezer on the top row, and because of physical distancing there's no one to help me get the stuff. Normally I'd just stand on the inside edge of the freezer, but it's one of those with a rounded, weak edge that would break if I put any weight on it.
This is one of those situations where a staff member should help you. After all, you don't have to stand next to them while they reach it for you, and they can just put it within your reach and leave.

I've been staring at a word processor screen for at least a half-hour.

I hate writer block.

love ya too dave hope ya holding up alright

okay so

- my campus is shut down and my course has been moved online. The course I quit my full-time job to study (I'm still working at said job part-time and I believe we are classified as essential so at least I still have that I guess)
- my sister is forced to move into my apartment for reasons, I wouldn't mind except my apartment is already tiny, barely enough for me and my partner
- the holiday & convention that I've been looking forward to attend for almost a year is cancelled
- my citizenship ceremony that I've waited almost two years for is also cancelled
- plans to visit my parents in Thailand at the end of the year looking less and less likely
- my mental health is terrible and it makes me fall behind in my studies and my jobs and my side projects which makes me feel worse which makes me fall behind...
- to fix that I'm trying a new medication which makes me gain weight (gained 3kg just in the last week after having lost 8kg over 6 months) and makes me sleepy and groggy all day
- we have a terrible government and I'm super worried about what the future holds once we gets through this whole mess

I was already juggling a career change + moving house + relationship, I don't need to deal with an apocalypse too, go away, shoo

I dunno if "go away, shoo" is an effective way to ward off apocalypse, but it is certainly the cutest I've seen tried.

Probably more effective than whatever Trump is doing

Rant: My can of compressed air ran out while I was trying to get crumbs out of my keyboard. The places where I can get another can are closed. I feel personally inconvenienced.

Some vacuum cleaners (canister types mostly I think) allow you to put the hose into the exhaust hole and turn it into a blower. Or try a hair dryer on low heat.

Power went out in the middle of cooking breakfast, now the house reeks of hash browns I can't eat.
On the one hand, I'm wondering why anyone would want to eat hash browns; they're disgusting. On the other hand, I know what it's like to not have electricity and need it. This is why I keep cans of chili around. No cooking is necessary, just soda crackers and a spoon (I hate washing dishes and will take any short cuts I can).

They should have offered it anyway; just because the normal way is to have a few dozen people take it together is no reason why they couldn't do it one-on-one with the appropriate distancing measures. It would take longer, but it would be done.

Assuming your country does it the same way Canada does, of course, with a citizenship judge and however many dozen people are scheduled for that day.

Canadian Tire sells a lot of things now that they didn't before. It's not just automotive and hardware anymore. Not sure if you get physical Canadian Tire money now, though. I think I have about 25 cents' worth of that somewhere.

I think it's a card now. Because they can't track your purchases and sell that information to advertisers with physical Canadian Tire money, you see.
