Random Rants XIX: Failure Tactics

The history of all hitherto existing society is the history of class struggles.
Freeman and slave, patrician and plebeian, lord and serf, guild-master and journeyman, in a word, oppressor and oppressed, stood in constant opposition to one another, carried on an uninterrupted, now hidden, now open fight, a fight that each time ended, either in a revolutionary re-constitution of society at large, or in the common ruin of the contending classes.

And communism will be no different, just a reversal of roles pretty much with much more disastrous effects on the majority of humanity.

A forum I frequent converted from invisionfree to zetaboards. Damn zetaboards consolidated a new post by me into an old one by me from yesterday.

I hate zetaboards already. [pissed]

Not all socialists are communists though.

And anyway this pointless because this is a RANTS thread, not a POLITICAL thread.

13-12. :cry::gripe:[pissed]:suicide:

So much for the high point of the weekend. Back to the finals grind of churning out thirtysome pages in the span of a week and a half.

$59.99 (without tax) for a controller? What, are they gold-plated or something?

I've just voted for the first time in my life. Presidential elections, second round (so only 2 participants left). It appears that the man I voted for obtained 49.7% of the votes. Just how much more frustrating could this be?

Not all hope is lost though, those were the 5-o'clock results, the final ones being at 11 PM, and almost 7% of the Romanians live abroad, so technically anything could happen. The numbers of those living abroad will however only be added tomorrow to the total, thanks to timezone differences (those living in the west coast of the US have only had a few hours until now, for an extreme example). And although they normally vote overwhelmingly in favor of the candidate I voted for, I don't believe too many will actually show up and do it. :(

The f... communists won the elections damnit. By 2%.

The official results will come in tomorrow morning i guess. But i don't have much hope left.

The poll I read showed only 0.6% difference, I guess the 23:00 results are out? In that case, it only went downhill from what I saw. :(

Anyway, I totally agree with your rant, it's especially annoying since I actually voted this time!

What he's calling "Communist" is actually the Social Democratic Party.

He's calling them communist because of their obvious connection with the Communist Party of Romania which existed until the revolution of 1989. He's not talking about the name of the party or what they consider themselves to be, but about its members, many of whom fit his description entirely, in the 'ex-Communist European' definition of the word "Communist".

That belongs in the raves my friend.

We're not talking about a win of one ideology over the other. You have no idea what the political situation is in Romania. We're talking about a victory of people of very questionable character, as a result of a campaign based SOLELY on denigration, and not on actual alternatives offered. We're talking about big bosses that got the lion's share after the fall of the communism and that want to hold on to it. It's the most dishonest kind of politics, IMO. I'm not sure how many of them would be able to give the definition of the word "socialist", let alone build policies around this idea.
