I found out that I have a high tendency to be healthy the whole year (chronic issues notwithstanding) only to get sick the minute I get a lick of vacation time.

Frakking people and their goddamn laundry issues.
It seems that a good chunk of people in this complex are quite alright with letting their laundry sit in the machines all day, even overnight.
We are not of that type, but we never take people's laundry out of machines for respect for their stuff and with the tacit acknowledgement that one day, we'll forget our load in a machine and I don't want someone pulling out my stuff.
So when we found two loads in two machines today, we left them alone and used the other two sets of machines. We've been diligent in keeping up with them, ie we get back to them within an hour of their cycles being done. But we do have multiple loads, so we have been using those two sets continuously. Well we went up to cycle the loads for what should have been the final set and we see a woman in there and she's taken out all of our clothes from the machines and placed them on top and took out the other loads that don't belong to us as well. This is despite the fact that our loads clearly weren't done and needed another cycle. She also inadvertently mixed up her dirty clothes with our clean laundry while she was moving stuff around.
So now we have to air dry some of our loads and we can't wash the rest because one person in this complex is an inconsiderate hog. No one has ever done this to anyone else here since I've lived here, but now that this new women is here we all have to be on alert for laundry-dumping, which is going to escalate as people try and retaliate against this one person and catch the rest of us in the crossfire.

I'd probably, disrespectfully, have taken the stuff out of the machines at the start and used all the machines.

That's exactly what she did to us and it pissed me off because we weren't through and she didn't want to wait. I've only taken a load out once in my life and that was when a dude literally forgot he had a load in the dryer for a full week. He had obviously forgotten completely that the load was there and not knowing whose it was (so I couldn't knock on his door), I put it on top of the machine instead to remind him. It was gone by the end of that day.

Better to be sick at the front end of the semester than during finals. I always get sick on the Megabus to Model UN, meaning my cold/general nastiness is in full swing come finals time.
That reminds me, are you going to be doing Model UN Joe?
