I never got an A in an English class. Wouldn't bow down and write like they demanded.
Unlike say math, their grading is subjective, arbitrary, and vindictive.
Write a 3 page report on why diversity is important yet?
I certainly sympathize with anyone who can read and write well and still get clobbered.
I have been basically forced to write about corn subsidies and how they apply to various American political factors every week for the past four months. I know nothing about science or economics, so when I have to find six scholarly articles, I stick to what I can actually read, stuff that isn't filled with complex formulas incomprehensible to a history major.
I realize now that I made numerous mistakes on my annotated bib, so I can understand losing a fair amount of points, but a one out of a hundred is incomprehensible.
Good God I'm terrified. There are only a few hundred points total in the course, and this could break my grade. That means I'd fail, and quite possibly lose my scholarships. I don't know if my family can afford to put me through college without scholarships for long. If my prof doesn't let me retry, I don't know what I'll do.
