My preferred mode of dickery is being a dick to people who think they're hot sh1t. :dunno:

I think my procrastination performance today was an all-time best. I even woke up slightly early so I could get distractions out of the way and do some work, and I ended up doing absolutely nothing all day.

There is a disturbing lack of ponies in this post. It's like you people don't know how to procrastinate.

The BBC has been well and truly infested by the Tories.

Yesterday they had a story suggesting 75% of incapacity benefit claimants were fit to work, which incorrectly added the "rejected claim" % to the "abandoned claim" % AND failed to mention the doubts cast on the ATOS test along with the number of successful appeals. It was so twisted it could have been lifted straight from the Daily Fail.

Today they've got a story about a grandmother who claimed incapacity benefits and was caught at a gym. Can't vouch for the accuracy, but it's a non-story that belongs in a tabloid.

Oh, and a few weeks back Newsnight had a biased program on workfare.

What the hell is happening over there?

I dunno. I catch GMT world news over here on PBS for my world news and I haven't noticed anything particularly odd about it, besides occasionaly letting slip their secret desire to make all Americans look like hicks. (Thar will be Ay-Rarbs thar!)

The Tories are trying to control our minds and only use their own propaganda in news sources! :run:

This, totally. Ironic hearing that from you, though. ;)

Also, if you look at OT as purely an avenue for humor opportunities rather than a forum for discussion, it's SO MUCH MORE AWESOME.

I wrote my last final ever today. I am now done University.

It was suitably anticlimactic.

Congrats!! But... Rant??

I have good reason to believe that this weekend will be just as bad if not worse in terms of me procrastinating.

And I don't like that!

@Zack- no you're not being a dick. At all. You're just taking the game a *tad* (really only a tiny bit) too seriously.

May I recommend cocaine, sir? :coffee:

This is disquieting… I'd already heard that Cameron planned to cancel all the BBC Foreign Services but I don't know if they went through with it or not.

It ain't a game, it's SRS BSNS.

Cameron was planning to cancel the World Service? I think that that would have been widely reported if that was so!

As I said, I don't know what became of that. IIRC they wanted to stop the non-English broadcasts…

My dad lost his job today after working there for about as long as I have been alive.

My folks may soon be homeless as well.

Fortunately, I already moved out four years ago.

You Brits can always look on the bright side that as bad as the Tories and Daily Fail get, they will still be better than the Republicans and Faux News.

Rant: Silly melon-headed Americans think Australians are British.
