I'm off to some random places in North Karnataka later this weekend/early next week, including the original Vijayanagar, and my ancestral village, and I'll likely be sleeping somewhere where I can actually see the Milky Way for once.
Enjoy the view! It's been years since I've been somewhere where light pollution is low enough to see more than a few dozen stars in the sky- I think it was when I was camping in the Gower peninsula in South Wales.
My rave, I'm typing this while on a train with complimentary wi-fi, sipping a complimentary cup of coffee (having got a bargain first-class ticket online a few days before. Good times!)
"I was the first guy playing Daft Punk to the rock kids
I played it at CBGB's
Everybody thought I was crazy
We all know
I was there
I was there
I've never been wrong"

"Well Daft Punk is playing at my house, my house
I waited for 7 years and 15 days
There's every kid for miles at my house, my house
And the neighbors can't...call the police
There's a fist fight brewin' at my house, my house
Because the jocks can't...get in the door
When Daft Punk is playing at my house, my house
You got to set them up kid, set them up"
Got a gig editing papers for medical school students at $7 a page. Won't be a big money-maker but if I get around 2-3 papers a month from it, that should likely come to around $80-90 which would pay for the internet bill and my phone bill. Can't go wrong with that. This is important as a rave for me as I edited a personal statement from a student going to Harvard for medicine just two months ago free of charge since it was a friend and it seems like that paid off. Neat.
I also made some pretty darn tasty spaghetti yesterday that still tastes pretty darn tasty today.
It's 2:15 in the afternoon on a solid overcast Saturday that's already dumped over 4" of rain since 7am. I've lowered every shade to cover the windows in my house and am now walking around in boxers and a t-shirt for the rest of the day. Life is good.
