Incidentally, I was on the BA track, but was misinformed about how many years of a foreign language I needed (I was told two semesters, but it was in fact two years), and discovered the mistake too late to change it. So, a BS I got instead.

Depends where you do them also, my history degree is certainly a humanities degree (i.e. an arts). In the UK i've not heard of anywhere offering history as a Bsc, though you can probably do History and Social Science as a combined degree opting to choose which degree you get. Pure history is an arts based degree but i guess with the additions you guys do in the states it can add up to a science.

In casual conversation with my boss today, he reccomended I read The Poverty of Philosophy. He then went on to describe Marx as being "so smart" because he struggles to stay on topic, trying to say so many things at once.

I'm not sure how to react to this!
