So it's been a busy week.
*The movers came on Thursday and were able to somehow angle a semi truck around a hair pin turn to get into our subdivision and deliver our stuff. Plus, even in the pouring rain they were able to get our stuff to and fro without damage and also somehow didn't track mud everywhere and cost us less than we thought.
*After staying up till 4am Friday and Saturday night and working all day Sunday, we are officially moved in. All of the canvases* are hung and all of the wall decorations as well. Our furniture is placed where we want it and we got rid of a lot of junk too boot. Not only that but I also managed to put together a kitchen island and a set of shelves to place our towels on (since we have no real closet space) and hung a bike rack (which I've never done before). So now the new apartment is officially our home and it looks awesome!
*Got a new corded drill, which is >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> (x100,000,000) better than a cheap battery powered drill.
*After several days of barely tolerating the new puppy, our other dog had a serious change of heart. All of a sudden I realized that her barks had changed from 'I want to kill you' barks to 'I want to play with you' barks'. At that point we stopped constantly intervening between them and now they are like best buds. The old dog has even gotten over her jealousy issues and doesn't bark so much for attention when we pick up the puppy. Watching them play with each other is amazing fun and it's so heart warming to see her paw at him gently and to see him faux charge at her only to take off running in the opposite direction when she stands up. It's probably the most adorable thing I've ever seen and a huge relief because we were unsure how they were going to get along. She isn't even possessive of her food when he's around, which is a pretty big deal considering she's never really been socialized around other dogs.
*Puppy slept through the entire night last night in his kennel without fussing. It's the first time I've had 8 hours rest in a week. Unfortunately I still have a massive sleep deficit and feel run-down.
*Before we moved in, it was hard to judge how much room our new place had. I mean, I knew the measurements said it was bigger but without our stuff, it's just hard to tell and I kept second-guessing and thinking it wasn't that much bigger than the old place. Well, it is much bigger than the old place, that's for sure. Not only is it bigger but the way we've arranged it really gives the dogs lots of room to chase each other around in and to play. It's truly awesome to not feel so cramped anymore.
It's been a busy week for sure.
