Well, it's not far from Thursday down there now, is it? Some 5 hours 19 minutes, if my calculations are correct.

You'd be spot on.

Just to clarify though, my joke was that CH questioned whether to celebrate ANZAC day by drinking and gambling was maybe inappropriate. I was just saying that drinking and gambling is actually a Thursday (or general weekday) thing and that the fact that it's ANZAC day is mere co-incidence.

Ah, uh, oh, okay. Huh, I see it now. Sorry for being that stupid.

So the ANZAC spirit is to get drunk and gamble? :shake:

No, no, that was just a general thing in reference to ANZAC Day. I'm sixteen, I can't drink let alone promote it. :p

Don't stress. We can get hammered on ANZAC day when you visit and laugh about it.

It's actually a great day. There are a thousands of dawn services across the country to remember the fallen, then a march, then people all over the country congregate in RSL clubs and get drunk with the old soldiers.

Then we play "two up", a gambling game with coins from WW1 that is only legal on this one day.

Then, I can't tell about drinking, but gambling sure is part of the ANZAC spirit.

Hehehe, that reminds me of King Rat, when a stuffy Brit tries to get an Aussie colonel to outlaw two-up among the enlisted men.

This thread reminds me of Gallipoli, a truly awesome Gibson movie. The ending of that movie still haunts me...

The ending is the only thing I've seen of that movie. :(

Well, and the first few minutes. Only up to the first race.

Rave: "A" on my Food paper! woohoo, looks like I can nail an overall "A" in this class after all!

Here's hoping I can keep an "A" in both rhetoric and astronomy, as well as hopefully bump up my grade to an "A" in my cinema class. Though, at this point, I'm fine with three A's and a B.

Rhode Island Senators voted 26 to 12 to legalise same sex marriage!

Here's hoping the trend continues.

Yet another movie we unequivocally disagree on!
