At the pet stores they sell some pretty effective flea control stuff. Go there and talk to the people and see what they recommend.

My cat gets bird fleas from time to time. The vet prescribes something called frontline and it works.

When you have the invasion, also in your house, frontline is ok and keep vacuum cleaning and licecombing thoroughly

For preventive action you can use garlick for dogs, fresh or pills. We do that here with our dogs.
(cats IDK).
Fleas have less appetite for blood with garlick.

When the little buggers have breached the house, vacuuming is indeed the name of the game. But to prevent further colonisation of my bed, frontline is a must in those spring months when the bird flea is most active.

Oh and I'm sure I've heard that garlic is toxic to pets. So are you sure about that?

I know that there are many articles saying that it is toxic to pets.
Well.... it is by the same mechanism also toxic for humans !!!
The issue is that some compounds attack the red blood cells in mammals (including those of humans) and cause hemolytic anemia.

We give the dogs since years moderately garlick pills (for dogs) and have no health issues and it did seem to help against fleas.
The pills are heat-dried garlic, that changes the compounds in garlic.
We started with sliced/chopped fresh garlic feeding it after 20-30 minutes standing, but that was more hassle than the pills.

Just remember to open the window when you fart.

Dear me. I'm not so sure that this is a good idea.

I do know onions are toxic to dogs and cats because of thiosulphate. And garlic is a species of onion.

But hey! I think you're right. Onions are toxic to human beings too.

Onions reduce your blood clotting ability. Allegedly. Which may, or may not, be a good thing. Depending what else is wrong with you.

Upon further research, while the flea medication is over the counter in most countries, in Canada it requires a perscription.
It's the same in the US and it's infuriating rent-seeking behavior from vets. I just hope you don't live in a high cost of living area where a visit to the vet for this kind of script can run a few hundred dollars easily.

When I found out my grandmother was on her deathbed, coincidentally one of my dogs needed surgery. Here in LA they wanted over $2k for the procedure which cost less than $200 back in MO/IL. So we decided to drive cross country instead of fly so that we could drop the dog off at our old vet and pick her up on our way back. We've since discovered the problem has reoccured and we will have to put her down in the near future due to the excessive costs here in LA. We simply can't afford to cough up $2k every 6 months for the dog. (that and she's old and every surgery is riskier than her last - she's already had 4 or 5 procedures)

So I feel your pain.

Having said that, Trifexis or Frontline, coupled with regular anti-flea shampoo baths will fix your problem permanently.

When the live coverage of the nuclear war comes, I wonder how long CNN will go before they have to start showing Lunesta commercials again.

I think it already had this form in the ancient era, but there you mostly see letters (eg in marble) in capital, so you would see the first type which can also be non-capital but in capital form it will always be like that :)

Though google uses φ, but whateβer

There was no minuscule in the Ancient era. That was a Byzantine invention.

If possible, please nuke me back to the 1990's. I don't remember fearing nuclear war while Saved by the Bell was on.

I have a question about my Facebook!

I accidentally deleted a friend request i sent to another person and atm can no longer resend one. How to fix this?

Firefox and windows both forced an update last night. And now the Tab Mix Plus add on for Firefox does not work. Any idea how to make it work or a different option to do what they used to do? What I need is that when I click a thread in a page for it to open in a new tab, and in the background. Which to me seems like it should have been the default in the first place. But now I can no longer do.

Clicking a link with the middle mouse button(scrollwheel) opens the link in a new tab. Also right clicking on a link brings up the option to open it in a new tab.
