Sometimes, for fanfic purposes, I end up googling things that make me wonder if any writer has ever ended up on a watchlist for doing research.
Private Browsing is your friend, aimee.

Private browsing only prevents it from getting cookies/history on my computer, though.

Plus, of course, our very own hobby-chemist from CFC got visited by the police after viewing messages sent on this forum.

Wait, what?

Wow

Yeah, you never know when they might be watching. Hi, Agent! *waves at screen just in case*

Rave/Rant: So I had a couple of broken ePub files that wouldn't load on my Kobo Aura HD (even though they loaded in Calibre).

I spent a couple of hours on messing around with epub-check and Sigil trying to get it fixed. Then I figured out if I just had Calibre convert it from ePub to ePub, it fixes all the issues. Go figures.

True story. He sent me an x-mas card and it was covered in black currant (banned in the US)

Did he also smuggle a Kinder Surprise through customs?

Blackcurrants are banned in the US??

From Wikipedia:

Blackcurrants were once popular in the United States as well, but became less common in the 20th century after currant farming was banned in the early 1900s, when blackcurrants, as a vector of white pine blister rust, were considered a threat to the U.S. logging industry.[25] The federal ban on growing currants was shifted to the jurisdictions of individual states in 1966, and was lifted in New York State in 2003 through the efforts of horticulturist Greg Quinn. As a result, currant growing is making a comeback in New York, Vermont, Connecticut and Oregon.[26][27] However, several statewide bans still exist including Maine,[28] New Hampshire,[29] Virginia,[21] Ohio,[30] and Massachusetts.[31] Since the American federal ban curtailed currant production nationally for nearly a century, the fruit remains largely unknown in the United States, and has yet to regain its previous popularity to levels enjoyed in Europe or New Zealand.

They banned currants in a "won't anybody think about the trees!?" moment 100+ years ago, and have only just considered thinking about the problem now!???

Further proof that the US of A is one weird country!!

I've only recently bothered listening to Kylie Minogue. I knew she existed, as a person, since I was a child, but I just never looked her up or listened to her. And I have decided that Kylie Minogue is not a person but instead a name they attach to a random person they take off the street for every music video, because she looks like a 100% different person in every single one. And every video inevitably has comments going "This is Kylie's best look!"

Anyways, Loco-motion is a bop. Completely incoherent as a dance song, but the beat is nice.
