You are just bad at math. You have to draw a red line. If you do, fewer will be killed in vain attempts at crossing than are currently killed as a result of the crime of illegals now. Crossing a line illegally is logically on par with crossing other lines. No reason to limit it to illegal immigrants unless you just don't like Mexicans. I would be in favor with forcing car manufacturers to install 12 gauge shot gun barrels into the steering column of every car off the line. When the driver exceeds the specified speed limit on the road they're on, then the gun will fire, instantly killing the driver. Doesn't matter if the driver is transporting a bus load of kindergartners.

Do the math. Less people will die than the number of people who would die from accidents involving unsafe speeds.
