You have a soon-to-be-wife-laptop? Or is that a soon-to-be-wife?

Either way - congratulations!

Replace the worker with an archer in Kyoto

Genghis meets us

And we research The Wheel (for Pottery)

And build this

I stopped there. Replaced it with a barracks but no hammers invested (settler maybe??).

Forgot to start growing again in London (work floodplain instead of stone maybe).

What was the worker doing at Kyoto?

Doesn't matter ... I moved the worker to farm the corn.

Firstly ...

qm001-jpg.493729

  • we are playing EPIC speed ... so things will seem slower than normal
  • we got peace with the Roman Empire :)
  • we ran out of cash so I swapped to binary research (100% gold / 100% science)
    • you don't lose fractions of beakers / gold this way
    • that is what the extra BUG +/- are for (on the outside)

We found Bismark and met Napoleon.

qm002-jpg.493730

Watch the EPs ... would like maps (and then tech) on everyone ...

qm003-jpg.493731

Actual game play ...
  • Our Woodie I warrior killed off a scout
    • GG collection started
    • Woodie promoted to Woodie II
    • Unit renamed from Killing Machine to Scouting Machine
    • Sent North
  • completed settler out of London
    • sent South West (red circle below) - the team has a decision to make
    • Archer out providing (loose) Settler coverage (blue circle below)
  • generated alternate dot map

Current Empire ...

qm004-jpg.493732

  • added some alternate city options
    • btw ... to turn on / off Dot Mapping (Ctrl-X)
    • to edit Dot Mapping (Alt-X)
  • I like GreenDot as our next city
    • overlap with London - which is ok for early cities as they can work each other's tiles
  • we need to select a commerce heavy city (red dot near banana is an option)
    • would prefer back yard city ... not front line city
  • we have a little Barb generation spot at the moment (fog in the back yard) that we can use to harvest XP
  • pink dot picks up 2 fish so it could be a very nice hammer city (workshops, Moai)
  • tech is on myst so that we can try and land a religion / build monument for border pops
  • just double whipped worker out of Kyoto with max hammer overflow ... into Granary(?)

We should send the Woodie II warrior to harass the AI cities and hopefully steal a worker or two.

Not entirely sold on green city as next. Like white city between our two current cities. We could then fill in the other white city and pink one at our leisure and look to push north when we're strong enough.

The whites miss the banana. Happy to go with other cities but we must claim our food tiles.

Unfortunately, that unavailability mentioned back on page1 is rearing its head. You can try to punt me later in this rotation or leave me out for a turnset. I don't mind.

While we wait for the ... report ... here is something that I only discovered today watching some of my favorite episodes of TNG ...

Data has hexagon pupils.

9c4eddf4485dc40c6c54a4b1fbf433e0c057d046.jpg

proves it: hex maps better than square.

sorry all ~ between fittings for my dress and hair appointments, I've been busy the past few days. In that vein . . . my report.

Woodsie stood alone in the forests of Azteca, his/her nearest compatriot miles to the east.

Rumo(u)rs of a new settlement reached his ear:
gq3OTqE.png

as well as the elusive borders of their violent neighbro's:
xYvUap0.png

With stealth borne of years of experience (and a Woods II promotion), he/she crept between the ancient trees, his/her footsteps no louder than the falling of leaves/sheaves. At long last, he/she mounted the summit (yeah he/she did . . . ) of Mt Tenochtitlan and saw the fabled city nestled below. And to the north, "volunteers" . . .
RYVtiek.png

He/she pursued his/her quarry relentlessly, until:
74OzB9X.png

MARRIED!!

Woodsie, now happily jaunting about in marital bliss, headed south (the bride/groom less happily, almost morosely, following behind). Together they spied smoke:
EBLA5Je.png

Tenochtitlan, the famed City on a Nice Green Hill with Cozy Lakes Nearby, was under attack. Could it be, could he/she be a hero/shero again?

Alas, 'twas not to be as Aztec archers swarmed to the walls and repelled the attack. The new couple continued on their way south, back to England, England . . . home . . .

Here's a picture of workers:
P0ONAt4.png

They're working. Here the artist chose the juxtaposition of one worker on grasslands, and the other in woods to symbolize how we all struggle with dual natures: one open, and one concealed.

Here's a picture of a warrior:
jdbt523.png

Clearly, the pink dot represents our heart and the warrior our conscience self. Like him/her, we should all take care to "fog bust" our hearts lest negative emotions (what I call "barbarians of the soul") overtake us all.

Namaste.

In other news, I whipped the Granary in London, shot out the southern warrior, and then an archer is being worked on while we grow some more (emp food still on).
Mysticism>IW ~ we're accumulating cash for that.
Farms all around London on the Desert FPs and one of the grasslands should let us work all tiles there, plus allow heavy whipping in the ealry game.
Kyoto is working on chopping the Granary (done next turn with most of the shields going to the next build) and the other forest there is being chopped as well. Settler next for a fourth and commercial city?
