I highly doubt that. That is tin foil narrative that's for sure.

while all those Western intelligence services want to remain on talking terms with people they know in Russia , and the picture painted by the article itself is not that true and positive in real life , it will be spectacularly supporting a history that will recognize the West willingly ambushed Russia with promises that it would keep Ukranians neutered . And Putin fell for it , quite pressured by his own medical condition and the relative chaos his succession would have created . If you think that's tin foil stuff , why , you are entitled to it . Also note in the original post ı also comment for the picture ...

Not all western media is out to paint Russia as Satan you know. And BTW what Russia did was wrong

but they are entirely different things . That not every Westerner paints Russians as sons of Satan and the West (unable to fight China by 2030) creates a diversion that decreases the value of Russia in such a fight AND creates an easier venue for China to expand . This latter might have already been deemed useless by the Chinese now .

Ok... I am having hard time understanding your point...

That disproportion was achieved on the back of the West's colonial history and exploitation.
And that's why the US could not get a majority to condemn the Russian invasion.
I think this viewpoint is quite cynical. All UN resolutions and decisions against Russia passed with a large majority. This is the vote to condemn Russia. I'm quite happy with the results.

meant for one post above

if you have seen the thing , there is supposed to be some footage where some unhappy Putin wants the surprised Donestsk/Luhansk people to say something who think their declaration of their desire to join Russia would be welcome . Long time ago already , ı can't even remember the situation . Before this thing started the mood in America was all doom and gloom . Trump waiting in the wings , American leadership more focused on "gay rights" and like ı don't want to get eviscarated on that and every week start with some new Chinese military capability . When Russia is so mercilessly thrown under the bus , with Ukranian tractors being all the rage , the future coalition of Beijing and Moscow seems less threatening . Where China would invade Taiwan for some reason and Russia holding America down by waiting in the wings with Nuclear weapons . The Chinese are still quite weak in that area . Should have encouraged far too many people in Taiwan , the light infantry destroying everything with cheap missiles . And oil and nuclear power industries have gained another decade at least .

Don't worry much about it; it has been years and we've never quite figured out if r16 is a person or if a Turkish military AI merged with a chatbot.

Have just watched a video streaming a Russian supermarket in Moskva by a female Vietnamese who live in Moskva. The price seems normal.
28 Rub per bread loaf.
243 Rub per 100 gram of smoked meat.
There's a discount on watermelon...
In the video, she said that the price of food increased by 20-30% but it was cheap before so the sanctions don't actually affect the lives of Russians much.

Btw, my Monday flight to my hometown got canceled due to a military drill followed by a Chinese military drill in SCS. Russians' lives might be okay but I have just lost 5 hours of sleeping because of it. (packing the things, flight happens sooner one day)

The prices are ok, Nabiullina hiked the base rate to 20% in February which was probably an overkill. Ruble already grew beyond pre-war level, so they begun to relax restrictions couple of days ago.
Banks still offer 6%-7% interest rate in USD deposits, but I imagine it won't stay for long, because the base rate is already being reduced.

As a former colonel working for NATO and the UN and with direct experience in Ukraine you're right to be mistrustful of him.
Not surprising that someone who repeats long-debunked lies like these is a "former" colonel.
However, let us remember that there were never any Russian troops in the Donbass before 23-24 February 2022.
There is a massive body of evidence and testimony to the contrary, including from Russians themselves.

I've noticed the Putinists are taking no steps to de-escalate the war they started. Instead, they are calling on such worthies as Syria's Assad to send thousands of volunteers to join the battles against Ukraine. The Europeans are taking the first steps toward weaning themselves off Russian petrol, coal, and natural gas. Russia's neutral Scandinavian neighbors are seriously discussing joining NATO.

It's looking like a long war. I wonder what will happen first: public anger at growing casualty lists or an industrial base shut off from needed technology and minerals unable to replace lost or destroyed military equipment. The Putinists face tough choices in the future.

Food prices inflation is going to be a problem for everyone very soon.
Russia wont starve, but hard times are ahead

Russia's inflation rate reached 16.7% year-on-year in March, the state statistics agency said Friday, a level not seen since 2015, while food prices have risen even more steeply.
Inflation of food prices, a huge concern for Russians on low incomes, has reached 19.5% year-on-year, according to Rosstat.
Renaissance Capital analysts predict that inflation will peak at 24% this summer.
Pasta has gone up by 25%, butter by 22%, sugar by 70% and fruit and vegetables by 35%.
Other items that have soared in price are building materials (up 32%) and home electronics (up 40%)
"The prices have gone up, but pay isn't going up," he said.

ah , let us add this one , too . 6 Chinese cargo planes moved some S-300 equivalent SAM systems to Serbia , with the chaff/flare systems on the planes clearly ready to use . Is it Americans , is it non-friends of Serbians ?

We've been eating home grown tomatoes. Winters gonna suck for food prices, might plabt in spring or build a glasshouse.

Delivery of an old order.

operative stress being chaff/flares ready for immediate use , as if it is war out somewhere . Neverminding , America the proud country , the only one that could carry out a proper destruction of hostile SAM batteries , is currently busy threatening any country that buys air defence missiles bigger than a certain size . (lsrael doesn't count for some reason , 1982 being too old for starters) And at a time when people do not think that high of Patriots ... Even if it was so scary in 2003 after shooting down not one but two Allied planes in error , the pilot of the third one targeted in error (again) , immediately opened fire on the US Army battery that was being computer controlled and destroyed the radar gear ...

Says you. Where is objective evidence?

says he , as it is within his right . Living in Moscow or something like that . He saying he thinks Russian economy will improve will not make Russian arms victorious in Ukraine (or similarly undesirable situations) . Nor swamping anything under claims of unproven quality will make Mankind free or whatever . Ukranians are winning , last time ı read various American blogs .

It seems like 7000+ is the Ukrainian government's number :crazyeye:
I start to wonder where the 10000+ number is. Maybe in some trash ~news~toiletpaper?
It seems like 7000+ is the benchmark of urban warfare in a month tho.
-> implying that there wasn't a systemic scheme to murder Ukrainian civilians without any reason.

One of the Russian youth shares his memories about what it was like to grow up in recent Russia and what was his vision for the country. It is a real shame that there aren't more Russians like him. Much, much more.
