OOC: It's a show of strength to try and get Britan on side, thus speeding this war up.
A Cofee Table in Turin:
A group of intellectuals were talking about current events. There were arguments on every side- who was in the right?
"I say that the Kingdom of the Two Siciles in the right- it's defending it's homeland!"
"Come on- what about national identity! Italy needs to be united!"
"Most people are loyal to their home cities anyway- and that would never work!"
"Why- with the mass of the people behind it, everything can work!"
"Maybe with the mass of the people behind it, you'll shut up!"
The argument continued well into the night.
"Can't you see that all Victor Emanuel is doing is imperialistic ambition! Alfonso, Adolfo, you're more sensible then this!"
"Whatever his motives, Alberto, has actions are for the common good!"
"Alfonso, how can forcing someone into something kicking and screaming be for the common good!"
"Adolfo, why do you support schools?"
"I don't!"
At midnight, they left, as Alfonso went home. Well, he'd called himself Alfonso. Following an old king's trick when he wasn't sure what the people thought, he had an alter ego.
"Alfonso", depressed as what they thought, went into the local tavern. He was tired, irrational, and not his usual self. "Time to get drunk."
