Should we hand over the U.S. government to corporations?

Maybe it is time for Canada to annex the U.S.

Canada is only marginally better at the moment. Leave the Tories in power for the next 10 years and we'll be in exactly the same place.

Yeah. :(

Yes, because the recent "let's all smoke a joint" liberal platform is a sure-fire step to greatness.

Corporations? No, but its employees should be fired and its assets sold. Gordon Gekko for President!

This is implying that we did not already hand over the country to corporations. Would be pretty nice if it was not this way though I suppose.

Harper is going to have a field day with that one yes, but it's not a bad idea by any means. Really it has to be a move to steal young voters from the NDP, and with The Moustache gone, it has good chance of working.

But I'm an NDPer to the core anyway. I might be swayed into supporting the Grits if they picked Bob Rae as their leader, but that's likely another PR move they can't afford; Rae gets a lot of heat he doesn't deserve for what happened in Ontario.

The middleman exists for a reason. An open dictatorship of the oligarchy would be too unstable. The paradox is that open power would be against the interests of the very oligarchy.

And the representative system you have today, even if not deem democratic, still 'works'. With this system the elite have a way to work their internal strugles in a non-violent way.

I like the way people say "corporations already control the government!", as if the state acting in the interests of capital is actually something tremendously out of the ordinary, and so can only be explained through a corporate conspiracy against the masses.

This guy, however:

Knows what is what.
