Single Player bugs and crashes v36 plus (SVN) - After the 24th of October 2015

The replacement for AI play doesn't seem to conduct research correctly. If I go through 1 turn, it doesn't conduct research at all. If through 5 turns, it only conducts research for 4. Also, is it possible to show wonder movies/research results/individual battles with AIplay, especially if only 1 turn is skipped?

9265 - School of Scribes building cannot be built in the current build. City size is over 6, I have Writing tech and both tablets and scrolls. You need 6 Schools of Scribes to build Plato's Academy, which is impossible to build currently.

For the research you're probably dealing with caching. A turn needs to pass for it to realize it needs to make a decision as to where to go with research.

As for movies etc... I really don't know. It's probably possible but it might be exe stuff. I've never worked with autoplay code.

Strange... just built it in one of the pvp games so I wonder how it would have changed since then...

@Sparth

Spearmaking has the wrong words "written" in the quotes area, the mp3 has A well known spear is blah blah blah like 3 . .(pic 1)

@ TB

I had the enforcers being built, then when i got to a different "tech" it disappeared because NOW it requires a sentry post or a lookout post, but they are not avail tell later techs are reached, is this planned this way?? (pic 2)

@DH

Also had this pop up again, weird stuff / / /

The previous shouldn't be obsolete right away and you should be able to build either the sentry or lookout post with the same tech that opens up the new...

Wait... it's an early obsoletion that would be causing the problem. Gotta review the tech that the sentry/lookout post obsoletes at. It must be set way too early. Someone else said something similar recently.

SVN 9265 from the main menu: I don't see any blank entries at the beginning or the end. The list goes from "Advanced Mine Technology Center" to "World Bank".

Need much more details Hugo, lots more.

Did your Clubman just subdue the wolf?

And how do you have club men at 48900BC while still researching Languages?

What Game Difficulty are you set at?

What Options used?

etc, etc. ? The more details given the better to get an answer.

both, F1 as well as click on the icon right above give nothing. (all other, F2 etc.) work fine. (Win7/64)
How to play a game w/o domestic adviser?
Or what work around available?

Edit
now be in medieval age and suddenly the F1 does work. I made no changes. But also now the BUG screens are reduced in relation to the former area, i.e. in automatic there are no longer mass of options for worker, but only some.
very confusing.

For some reason when starting a Deity game I always get a Clubman, at least when starting a Size Matters game.

But my point for the post is that the AI sucks, and this time I tried it on Snail, not Marathon, on Deity.
I've caught up to all AI by the time Sedentary Lifestyle is researched (roughly 20'000 BC) and the AI have no more than 1 to 3 cities at that time, while I've reached 4.

Save available if needed.

Cheers

I normally start at Monarch with Increasing Difficulty, and I get a Stone Thrower and a Clubman as my starting units.

Do you play with Tech Diffusion on or off? My more recent games have all been with TD on, and I rarely overtake the lead AI in technology until late Classical to early Medieval, if not later. I think my current game I didn't manage to overtake the tech leader until somewhere in the early Renaissance. I strongly suspect that it's the result of tech diffusion though, I'll have to give it a try without TD next time I start a game.

On to the actual bugs to report, I'm getting some rather mysterious failures of various "Free X in all cities" wonders to actually create X. In my current game, I first noticed it when Railroad stations became buildable again in various cities despite building the Grand Central Station wonder. I think it might be related to the Orient Express wonder, as I believe I completed that shortly before I noticed. Various cities also have Libraries buildable despite previously building the National Library Service. In this case, I want to say it's only the cities I conquered after building the wonder that have failed to receive a Library, but I'm not certain.

Sorry, forgot to mention no Tech Trading and no Tech Diffusing in my game this time.
With Tech Diffusing on I have caught the last AI before Sedentary Lifestyle recently.
With Tech Trading I usually have No Tech Brokering on too.
Doesn't matter though as I also do Minor Civ Start so no Tech Trading can take place until after Writing anyway.

2 questions BG:
1. Are you starting your game in the Ancient Era instead of Preh Era?
2. Are you still using your User Setting Folder from before you recently started playing again?

On # 2, if you are using an old USF (pre SVN 9230) then you can be having issues. Posts about using a New USF have been buried in several threads unfortunately so you may have missed that. You do remember how to reset the USF after a new SVN Update right? Since the USF on any Update is now empty and will need to be set. Unless of course like so many players you keep a copy of your USF and plug it in in place of the Empty USF with each D/L or SVN Update. We broke all the Old USFs between SVN 9093 and SVN 9230. If you made a New USF after SVN9230 then That one should be Okay to reuse for any Update or D/L since then.

@TrippedOnACloud,
Do you usually use the Same Civ for your Deity games? Or do you switch around?

Got to find out if this is a group of Civs in the mod that have been given a unique set of starting units. I know we used to have some Nations that had such a set. Not sure what all Sparth included in his new Culture set.

How would the User Settings change how the AI expands?

1. No, I start in Prehistory, how else could I work towards getting Sed. Life?
2. Yes, I do as I don't want to have to redo Domestic Advisor again, adding and changing what I see where.
I'll reset it though and do another test to see if the AI uses it's second settler then.

Because of some Option changes that were done during the Save game breaking period of SVN Updates. It made older USFs unreliable because it would be pointing to an Option that may no longer be in our set and would change the next one in line instead.

#2. Are you still adapting/modifing the Mod to your way of playing?
