Single Player bugs and crashes v36 plus (SVN) - After the 24th of October 2015

Hello,
I'm trying to play this mod for the first time, Prehistoric ended and I've researched mining and copper but I can't find the resource on the map. The only thing that can be mined is a single place that gives lead(without having researched lead).
At first I thought that you need to build mines and find the resource(which would be cool *hint*hint*) but after a few mines built it doesn't look like it.
I'm using the latest SVN version. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Mines on hills and peaks that don't have resources already do have a chance every round of revealing a resource. Sometimes you kinda get 'the shaft' (pardon the pun) and don't get access to any copper right away. It hurts but it's one of many critical resources that can easily give you a problem if you can't get any. Earlier than that, obsidian gives similar trouble if you don't have any on hand. Nearly every era demands a new cutting edge resource access to keep things interesting.

It sounds like you were unlucky in your nearby resources. Copper ore is revealed very early (hard hammer percussion IIRC), quite a bit before it can be used. What mapscript and size are you using?
I don't think so. The resources don't seem to exist on the map at all.
I'm using a custom scenario CTC_Terra Large

Well, it looks like I really got the shaft. After taking a look at the map there are two copper deposits relatively close together with obsidian and other things which are at the other end of the map.
Guess I'll just restart. Any tips?

So it doesn't seem to be a mod bug, sorry about that.

I would try to embrace it as a challenge rather than restarting. See if you can get iron... that usually gives you anything you can't get for not having copper. Or trade for it. Defend as well as you can until you can out-tech the need.

Maybe, but so far I'm not seeing Iron ore either :)
As for trading, that was my first go-to screen when I couldn't find any copper. No other civ has copper nor iron so I thought it must be a bug. Apparently not.

C2C is designed to make every game feel very different as it plays out. If other civs aren't getting any either then you really aren't at that great a disadvantage... yet. Most maps should enforce that there is AT LEAST one of each important strategic resource placed somewhere on the map for each starting civ. I'm not sure how that works exactly and I think some mapscripts may not be given that benefit. I've been enjoying the last one on the list lately, the work in progress by Toffer. So far it's looking pretty good.

Hello,
I am trying to play the GEM file that comes with SVN. Unfortunately it crashes right after selecting the scenario. It works in this release http://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/v36-crime-patch.559944/ but not in svn.

I've tinkered with the logs a little and I can see this:
Code:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "CvWBInterface", line 292, in getGameData
File "CvUtil", line 357, in findInfoTypeNum
RuntimeError: unidentifiable C++ exception
ERR: Python function getGameData failed, module CvWBInterface

Enabling the prints before line 292 in CvWBInterface outputs this:
Code:
### <bound method CyGlobalContext.getWorldInfo of <CvPythonExtensions.CyGlobalContext object at 0x16EB0960>>
### 8
### None

I've tried to determine the cause of the crash but I have no idea what to look at, I've tried a few of the custom scenarios and none of them worked.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

It has not been updated by the mapmaker to use the new terrains so it will not work. It should be removed from the SVN.

Year counter is totally broken, seems ok in the early game but starts to race onward like hell at industrial era. I just got electricity and the year is 2216 AD, definitely something that it should not be with snail speed.

This applies to the latest 'crime patch' version.

Thanks for the report. Is the Date per turn changing by years, or half or quarter years?

Was Ren Era too fast also? Should hit Ren Era around ~1300/1400AD and should last to 1600/1700 AD (give or take a 100 years on either end), then Industrial Era comes in. Should've hit Modern Era around 1900/1920ish AD.

Do you have Tech Diffusion On? Also what difficulty level?

EDIT: If v36 Official was the last version you played before getting the Crime Patch version, are you still using your Old v36 User settings folder? If you are it is the cause of your problem. Delete it and use the default User settings folder that came with the Crime Patch version. This will mean that you will have to go into BUG and reset all your settings there. Once done double save the game. BUT your game may already be too corrupted to and a New game will be needed to get the right settings. The Cache may also need to be cleared. We had a save breaking period where all older User settings folder became "broken".

And would you please post a save?

@Reiske and others, we ask for saves because of the complex nature of C2C. The options chosen and your play style all differ and just reporting a bug without a save showing the bug about to happen means we are often in the dark as to the full cause of the problem.

Case in point: at a certain point in the game the "grapes" resource can't be improved. Many reported it but no one posted a save. I examined the XML and found a few places where there were problems and fixed them. Bug fixed, or so I thought. I finally got the bug in one of my games where I was testing something else so was not playing in my usual style. It occurred on some worker units, which I had never used, between two techs, ones that I normally learnt one after the other. Hopefully that bug is now squashed for good.

There is still a problem with "slimy coast" but no one has posted a save showing it and my trying to set up a test case never has the problem.

Naval academy building appears all while and silhoutte - like on the map in the cities it has been built. Very minor but a long time issue. Applies at least to 'crime patch' version. May have reported this before but not sure so at least now it is done.

@Sparth do you have time to look into this? If not I'll remove the building graphic for now.

SVN 9341 (plus Space Colonization modmod): Some mapscripts (among them C2C_Terra) now produce green lunar tiles within earth terrain, sometimes with trees (SVN 9341).

Starting new games is about impossible on SVN 9328 since it's crashing 70+% of the time now before the map is created. Does not matter what size map it is. It's still crashing straight to the desktop.

Why are u using OLD SVN since u are already using SVN??

I'm not using the SVN and never will. This is the crime patch from not too long ago. It's random though, and there can be no saves made, so it'll be very hard to find out what it is. My actual save games work fine though. No issues with them.

HUH?? u said u had SVN version 9328 and besides that this is a SVN bug thread . . .the NO SVN is a different thread . . thx . .

Any info where should I start if I wanted to fix it myself? I really like the map, the generated stuff is not for me :)

What problem is this, again? I don't recall this from any recent posts, but I haven't really kept up 100% or gone through much of the older stuff.

I assume you're using the full download from the Crime Patch thread, based on SVN9328? What are your system specs, and are you certain everything's been installed correctly? Very strange that it's crashing fairly often, but not all of the time, though. Also, what map script(s) have you been trying to use? Have you tried to see if "Play Now" also crashes consistently?

Another issue with 9341: Until now, I had a Clubman and a Stone Thrower as starting units (Start as minors). Now the Stone Thrower is replaced with a Neanderthal Stone Thrower (2 :strength:).
