Single Player bugs and crashes v38 plus (SVN) - After the 20th of February 2018

The Sea Hunter promos after the first give penalties against wooden ships. That should be against all ships, right?
Hunters in general are not developed further after the start of Industrial, land or sea. And the naval review is still a draft, perhaps there is something about sea hunters as well.

Also, is it intentional that some units that require a cultural tech replace units but have no better stats? I recently noticed this with the Medicine Man and Maniq Speaker. The latter has a slightly higher production cost, requires Mani culture, both Alcohol AND Soap (instead of Alcohol OR Soap like the Medicine Man), and yet it has otherwise identical stats to the Medicine Man. What incentive would a civ have to use these over the vanilla Medicine Man?

Can't fix it after it's been broken. Can only repair things moving forward. I can't even say I know for sure if I've got everything. I found a problem and solved it and on his earlier save I was able to show it seemed to be working properly thereafter.
It's good that it's fixed going forward, which is ultimately what matters most. I'll lose a bit of time retracing my steps from the earlier save (latest commit definitely doesn't fix the hang, but has fixed the NC overflow number), but that's fine and I'm glad to help y'all out.

Not intentional. But is a by product of when those Cultural Units were made and that back then the standard Healer line was not as developed as they are now.

Sparth has not been here to update his Culture pack for 2 years now.

Thanks for taking a look at it - does it just progress to the next turn normally then when you try it? I'll see if the most recent commit makes a difference.
Yes. No issue for me.

To train a Gatherer i need 4 turns,to train a Neandertal Gatherer take 7 rounds.
What is the difference between them , has the Neandertal Gatherer benefits the normal Gatherer do not have?

Not really. It's part of the counterbalance for having Neanderthal units. SOME are just more expensive versions without added benefits.

The first one... I didn't find any problem with that save so I'm not sure what to say there.
Weird, maybe that one save was too dependent on BUG setting, that I have on or off?
They aren't stored in save games, which explain seemingly unreproducible errors.
@Toffer90 is it possible to make BUG setting log, that lists all those options and their status (or on off)?

What would be the point in that?
Easier to ask the user to upload their UserSettings folder if one suspects the crash/freeze/bug to be dependent on BUG option selection.

SVN 10564
I got my Cultural lvl4 a fex turns ago.
With the upload save, i push "Next turn" and then my national culture become "478 + 1 million". i think that mean "1 000 478", other values would be strange, but still strange because "next level" is not written this way.... And is totally false. Anothet "next turn" and I gain TWO new traits and then it look like everything about national culture is bugged... Look like I need a negative number of culture, and it decreasing each turn

weird one again:

<my Modern Grenadier is supposed to be able to upgrade to Bazooka but no upgrade avail??

I'm not sure but looks like you can't upgrade unit if you spent all movement points.
That is on next turn you can upgrade it just fine.
But you must move somewhere that unit, which is weird.

Also tech tree wise your game is balanced in relation to calendar.
I guess if we tried to make balanced for Joseph/Thunderbrd by increasing erainfo tech costs, then you would fall behind calendar.
And if we tried to balance for Pit or other Deity/Nightmare players then most of players would fall behind calendar.

Unfortunately I also got the national culture bug, the overflow in my game had happened without me noticing it, before I updated to the SVN fix and now it's looking like this: 20190509163455_1.jpg

I'm just wondering if you think that I can keep playing this game with that national culture value as it is, or is it going to cause major problems? So far I haven't had further prompts to select more leader traits beyond level 6 national culture. I can't remember when did the overflow happen but I don't think I have a safe recent savegame to load, the only other manual save I have from this game is way too behind in time to bother with it, I would rather start a new game at that point.

By the way, since you're talking about calendar and techs, in this game I'm in medieval era by 234BC, tech leader discovered medieval lifestyle by 830BC. Mostly played on immortal.

I'll take a deeper look at how this processes out. It's still very possible that there's a bug. The +1Million is expressed this way because millions have to be tracked as a separate variable. The two trait sequence... that sounds like you're getting a negative trait at that level. Anyhow, I'll see what's up here - I'm hoping it's an easier game to evaluate than the last, which is so involved a game it's very slow to process.

If you're jumping from 4 to 6, there's probably an issue in the way the math hands off from the lesser to greater culture thresholds needed. Potentially a very different problem from what I've fixed so far.

I play without negative trait. And I shouldn't have any trait at all with this culture (next at 4 800 000). So yes, it's the turn after this new math thing, so bug might be in the "translation".
Cheating with Great Artist to accumulate Culture shows me it's always the turn after this change.

Ok. I'll probably be able to fix it tonight.

Oy vey this was a mess of about 3 different bugs in 3 different spots. Ugh. This system SHOULD be fixed at this point but testing may still be needed to prove it. Update to SVN is on its way soon.

Looks like fixes worked.
Also that save I couldn't load earlier now loads for me.
