Both lines were present.
Is your mod folder Caveman2Cosmos?
Run as admin by the way.

Reinstall game since base game may be corrupt, also reinstall mod since you could simply drop new version on old version.

Also switch to English version, but chances are you already play in English.

If you are using my latitude modmods, you must get most up to date ones.

Maybe a reinstall was all I needed. I've played up to where the crashes started happening and no issues so far. I'll keep playing later and see if it stays working.

Strange, I started getting the errors again, but now the game isn't crashing and lets me keep playing. Not sure what's happening honestly, but at least I can play.
Thanks for the help guys.

Edit: Nevermind it's happening again. Been opening autosaves, amount of time I can play forward before a crash happens again varies. Sometimes I can't open the most recent save and have to go back to the second.

Run game as admin.
Delete your User Settings - maybe its broken.

Don't think I can run in admin, get "load error 5:0000065434" which I think is due to BTS being installed on my D: drive and Steam being on my C:.
I don't really have the space to move BTS over to the C:.
Here are the screenshots btw.

Having the game on another drive than steam, is no problem, I've had that setup too.

To run the game in admin mode you need to right click the BtS exe file and select properties from the list.

Switch to Compatibility tab:

and check this checkbox

When you then launch the game through steam the game will be launched with admin rights.

Did a full reinstall and redid the SVN checkout, followed all the steps y'all gave me, and no problems have come up. Played all the way up to the Classical Era. Must have been something wrong with one of the files I guess.
Glad it works now, thanks guys.

Also, whenever I open up the mod, it gets a series of error messages (in order, from left to right):



this is the only in-game issue I've had after these error messages started appearing. My C2C folder is located in: C:/Program Files(x86)/Firaxis Games/Sid Meier's Civilization 4/Beyond the Sword/Mods/Caveman2Cosmos, and my latest save file is in C:/Users/[My name]/Documents/My Games/Beyond the Sword/Single/Barbarian June 16, AD-1765.CivBeyondSwordSave

I came across this bug again - It appears to happen whenever I play the RFC: DoC mod before playing C2C, but I managed to fix it by backing up my save files and then deleting C:/.../Documents/My Games/Beyond the Sword

Perhaps RFC mess with the civ4.ini file, error says you have no DEBUG section in your civ4.ini file.
Deleting the ini file and restarting game will regenerate the ini file to its default state and fix such errors.

C2C also messes with it - for example comments aren't generated anymore since last year or so.
Also there is different option string in each mod
So with bigger mods its better to have INI zipped for each mod.

Options present when running BTS without mods.
Also all worked correctly on build v40.1.3107.

Two weird things about Ancient Embalmer:
1. Funerary Services is an optional requirement to enable AB, at the same time it replaces AB
2. Logically Burial Tradition Fire shouldn't be an optional requirement for AB, instead Burial Tradition Sky would make more sense.

1. There are lots of cases where requirement of building is replacement of building, it was a thing before I started reworking requirements, replacements and their obsoletions.
Essentially it means: You need older version of building in city to build newer version.

2. Probably its original design.
