Do you/does anyone know a reason why camels and llamas are the only resource with iOrder 1, strategics generally being iOrder 2 and going down from there?
That is because they have so strict plot requirement that they must be placed before all the others within their category to not be left with no plots because the iUniqeRange from other bonuses within their category is blocking the few plots they are eligible for. They are also limited to only one landmass area I think, which further limits their freedom of plot placement.

I think peyote also has a relatively high priority compared to other bonuses within their category.
May be some others that have this privilege due to unusually strict plot requirements.
 
Tar is a tile feature and clay a resource, unless I'm mistaken? But it definitely looks odd, and should be avoided.

I've actually been looking at c2cworld mapscript recently (lake overhaul juuuuust about done), and the resource placement could use some refactoring (takes like 50sec to place resources on my comp during mapgen for larger maps), though haven't touched it yet and not sure if this particular issue has been fixed or not. Toffer, want me to look into it?
:lol: Now I'm wondering if I selected the right resource to take. I took the Fine Clay, but since I'm in Ren Era maybe I should've taken the Tar instead..:hmm: wooden ships and all. 2 resources on a tile makes for interesting decision making and gives the ability to switch to other resource if it becomes a need. Soo....is having 2 resources show up on a tile a really "bad" thing to have? :dunno: Could become a big :deal: by way of decision making and opportunity selection and usage. Another :hmm: moment. :cooool:
 
I just re-finished this game (Tiny Alternate System, Immortal, normal speed) for Scientific Victory instead of Conquest.

Spoiler Transcendental Era Tech Bug :

  • In game, I hit Galactic at 2000. Continuing on, I hit:
  • Cosmic 2020
  • Transcendental 2040
  • Then started getting multiple boluses of tech in the final era - it happened 3x though I missed one of the screenshots. Basically inter-turn I was granted 10-12 techs at once! I was researching about 10-12M bpt and the techs were more expensive, so not sure about this bug. (Honestly it was welcome because I was already at 338 hours and just wanted to get to AG...)

Spoiler Couldn't Build AG Anywhere :

  • After I built Omniverse, I already had Unobtainium, Ascended City, and size > 25, I could not build the Ascension Gate anywhere - regardless of Earth/space/hyper tile etc. Didn't find much in the C2C forums about it. Frustrated, and after 338 hours and 240 cities, I just WB'd it in because had to finish SV one time.

I am not sure I have energy to play another round but it will be an earth only map next, and I'll see if I can move to SVN (worried about my 9 year old laptop barely running C2C as is).
Anyone with good laptop recs? Time for an upgrade...
 
Selecting multiple techs is buggy in late game due to overflows.
@MattCA you can reproduce it by increasing tech global 1000x, and giving appropriate amount of research to palace.
That is selecting multiple techs with cost of >21 474 836 will cause all selected techs to be researched, when you research one.

SVN will run better.

If there was bug, its fixed now.
It requires last building in Human Mod chain too - these make human mod culture "resources".

Getting a very consistent CTD on turn end with this save.
Current assets just broke saves. Are you on the SVN version with this game?
 
He wouldn't be able to load a save from before the save break revision if that was the case.
A CTD on end turn means he can load the save.

We still would like to know what version of C2C kormer is on though.
That's my point - it's probably out of our ability to work with it unless he's on the SVN and its a relatively new game.
 
I tried to load game with slightly older version and couldn't. Says his save is version 1. We on 3 after last break.
 
Whenver I open my tech tree (F6), it doesn't actually appear, only this screen shows up:

Also, whenever I open up the mod, it gets a series of error messages (in order, from left to right):

this is the only in-game issue I've had after these error messages started appearing. My C2C folder is located in: C:/Program Files(x86)/Firaxis Games/Sid Meier's Civilization 4/Beyond the Sword/Mods/Caveman2Cosmos, and my latest save file is in C:/Users/[My name]/Documents/My Games/Beyond the Sword/Single/Barbarian June 16, AD-1765.CivBeyondSwordSave

My E:/ drive is my physical disk drive and there's nothing there, but I did find C:/Program Files (x86)/Firaxis Games/Sid Meier's Civilization 4/Warlords/Assets/Python/System/ConfigParser.py. I couldn't find PythonDbg.log anywhere in C:/Program Files (x86)/Firaxis Games/Sid Meier's Civilization 4, but I did find C:/.../Sid Meier's Civilization 4/Assets/Python/System/wx/tools/dbg.py and C:/.../Sid Meier's Civilization 4/Warlords/Assets/Python/System/wx/tools/dbg.py. My BTS folder doesn't have that file though, nor does it have the C:/.../Python/System folder at all :confused:

I compressed and uploaded the three files I did find.

pythonDbg.log is in C:/Users/[My name]/Documents/My Games/Beyond the Sword/Logs/

BtS doesn't modify the system/wx/tools files, only vanilla and warlords have that folder.
