Skyrim - The Elder Scrolls V

My Conjuration is actually higher than Destruction by 10 levels. Honestly, now I'm wondering why I went mage. I expected fun combat and got handed a crap sandwich. And I've spent so much time on this character that I don't want to re-roll.

I expect that you're playing on a higher difficulty than me, but I havn't found mage that challenging yet...except for trying to run through a Dwemer ruin at around level 1-3 (SPHERES).

Spellcasting doesn't seem underpowered to me at all, it's just not overpowered like thief/assassin builds or even straight melee :dunno:

I ended up ordering the xBox 250 gig holiday bundle on Bestbuy.com, though expected shipping date is between 11/29 and 12/05. I've already bought Skyrim, so just waiting for the xBox to come in. I plan on playing a Cleric/Paladin character, with 1-handed weapons, heavy armor, block, and restoration as my primary focus. I'll probably use Tiber Septim/Talos as my deity for role-play.

I'll probably start out with the main quest first, which is the same thing I did with Oblivion.

I never finished the main quest in Oblivion. I found it rather "meh". I much preferred doing the guild quests.

Also, because I'm poor and can't afford Skyrim, but still want to play a TES game, I've been playing a lot of Morrowind recently. I finally just sat down and forced myself to give it a chance, and I'm rather enjoying it. Playing a Breton mage-type.

Your magics stop scaling at a certain point while enemies still do. Still with the enchanted equipments that remove mana cost for Conjuration and Destruction you can still kick ass.

Dragons have become somewhat of a joke if they don't just fly around and ignore me while blocking fast travel and mining with their presence.
I found Dragonbane toady and improved it to legendary, and I have two words for "Marked for Death."
I just killed an Elder Dragon with three strikes.

I agree, it was rather boring and dull. Plus, after I completed and waited the month for the armor, I still got the "Move along, citizen". Seemed rather foolish to even do the main quest in that game.

At least the dialogue at the Shrine of Sheogorath changed to Haskill.

Hmm, will I get in trouble if I kill Cicero? He's kind of annoying.

I haven't done any main quest yet, but I have finished the Stormcloaks. It was an alright questline, but the second half of it felt a little rushed. I joined the Dark Brotherhood, but I'm not sure if any of those quests contradict with other guilds, so I'm hesitant to go on killing people.

SO how about that "cave" with the crimson nirnroots? I wish it had like a world map equivalent because having it in a bunch of pieces is terrible for doing nirnroot sweeps, also the geodes are awesome.

This isn't my picture:

I've seent that same dialog somewhere before.

Saw a couple of HD/texture/awesome sauce mods for Skyrim on RPS, they make the game look so much more DO WANT

http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/11/25/mods-and-ends-skyrim/#more-83803

I'm probably going to wait 'til much more time has passed to start using mods, as there will be Bethesda patches early on that will screw with mods, as has been demonstrated, and the mods themselves will keep expanding bit by bit, and I'm not super fond of mod hunting and installing, so I'd rather do it less often. Actually I never installed any graphics mods for previous TES games, mostly stuff like Francesco's which altered gameplay and introduced new content. But it's obvious that my computer could take a lot more Skyrim beauties so I'm tempted... But yeah, I'll wait a bit for when it's more advanced, more consolidated, and there are less walls of texts to read and hours to spend making them work only to have them broken by patches.

Can anyone confirm that Magicka Regeneration is capped in combat? I've increased mine by 300% and I'm still running out of Magicka quite fast when in combat. Because if it is true, I'm probably wasting money and perks on trying to supercharge it when I should be focusing on reducing Magicka cost or increasing the pool instead.

I just got this game yesterday and it strikes me as pretty awesome. I haven't done any of the main story line yet. I ran off and hung out with the companions for a while and did a lot of their missions.

I'd recommend working on reducing mana cost for spells. I just whipped up a set of armor that reduces destruction spells by 104%. They're free. It's awesome.

Yes, I've just discovered he's in that questline. I won't get into it and spoil things. I'm still early in that questline anyways. I can only hope I can kill him at a later date. It's funny I ran into him on the road, and I never thought he'd be a major character in the game.

Anywyas, I"m level 35 and my objectives now are to finish up the Dark Brotherhood, do the Companions, and Bard's College quests, and do all the achievements. I have a lot of achievements already, but some of the ones left are the more difficult ones to get.

edit:
Spoiler :
ahhh, good, I don't have to listen to Cicero ever again after all. He was good for a few laughs however
