Skyrim - The Elder Scrolls V

I finished the Thieves Guild (well, I still haven't "returned it to its glory", which I might do, but seems a bit grindy and repetitive). I've done pretty much all quests in the Rift, and I'm basically done with the main quest. These were my objectives for this character, he's level 44 now. I'll probably play it again later (DLC? Or just for fun), but I don't think I'll go around finishing up every quest in every other hold with him. Maybe I'll get him to 50, but I'm in no rush. It's time to take a short break from Skyrim and start a new character for a different playstyle later. I mean I did pour almost 100 hours in just that one character.

Here's Herbert the Draugr. He has a position in the dungeon as the official guy in charge of closing the gate and re-scrambling the pillar puzzles after a visiting party has solved it.

I'd recommend working on reducing mana cost for spells. I just whipped up a set of armor that reduces destruction spells by 104%. They're free. It's awesome.

So... do you get mana back for casting Destruction spells?

Either way, that is so much cooler than 100% Chameleon. About 20% cooler, I'd say.

Can anyone confirm that Magicka Regeneration is capped in combat? I've increased mine by 300% and I'm still running out of Magicka quite fast when in combat. Because if it is true, I'm probably wasting money and perks on trying to supercharge it when I should be focusing on reducing Magicka cost or increasing the pool instead.
not AFAIK. The higher your level is in that skill the lower the magicka costs is, also you can get a number of enchants to drastically chop down on the cost eventually making the spells free
Hmm, will I get in trouble if I kill Cicero? He's kind of annoying.

I haven't done any main quest yet, but I have finished the Stormcloaks. It was an alright questline, but the second half of it felt a little rushed. I joined the Dark Brotherhood, but I'm not sure if any of those quests contradict with other guilds, so I'm hesitant to go on killing people.
Have to advance the Dark Brotherhood a bit. I was going to, but Lucian Lachance talked me out of it

It totally is 20% cooler, but I don't believe you get refunded magicka

Is there any way to kill the Imperial Legates or whatever they are called? Since I'm a Stormcloak, I like to go around to their camps and slaughter everyone, but their leader always gets back up. Are they essential for the civil war quest later?

Markarth is pretty sweet looking. However if you want to test your graphics card exit the Underkeep and look out towards the town and Skyrim, so far that's the slowest frame rate I have seen so far in my travels.

Also anyone else noticing odd smooth white textures on some characters and occasionally walls in certain indoor areas? I've noticed it in two places so far--the Underkeep in Markarth (NPC iron armor and mage robes clothes and rock walls in the Hall of the Dead are smooth white) and a dungeon I can't remember where all the iron armor was smooth white. Weird glitch.

edit: to add to the weirdness, when I enter the Underkeep and proceed to the Hall of the Dead from there, the glitch continues in the Hall of the Dead and almost all the walls are smooth white. When I enter the Hall of the Dead from Markarth, no glitch. So it has something to do with textures not loading properly in in certain indoor areas.

It seems you're having texture issues.

As for the spells costing no magicka at all:

Link to video.

If you ask me, I consider it to be a broken feature - just like all those insane weapons and armor you can get from abusing Alchemy and Smithing.

I'll have to do that some time. I'm guessing third or fourth playthrough.

One time in Oblivion, I was in the inn in Skingrad, and this invisible (chameleon in fact) guy started attacking one of the patrons. This was the middle of the day and I hadn't murdered anybody yet. Also, it didn't happen when I reloaded to find out who it was, and I still don't know to this day. Any ideas? This has been bugging me recently.

I just now noticed there are different tabs for the stats section (in the journal). Near the bottom of the combat one is a stat for bunnies slaughtered. I have 4 bunnies slaughtered. I knew all that magicka seemingly wasted killing bunnies wasn't for nothing. They help me practice my targeting of my firebolts.

edit: Dammit, annoying quest won't go away from my quest log. It's a quest called Dark Brotherhood Forever. It's a random repeatable quest. I thought if I did one it would go away, but it comes back to my quest log to approach the Night Mother again. I'm part OCD, and like to finish every quest in my quest log. If only you could remove quests from the log. :( *sigh*. I'm so into keeping my quest log tidy, I spent like an entire evening just whittling down the many quests and miscellaneous quests I had. I now have no miscellaneous quests in my log. :goodjob:

Does being a werewolf have any effects when not in Beast Form?

wait, sleeping gives you bonuses? I went nearly the whole game without sleeping, and that was only to start the Dark Brotherhood quests.

Yes, it does, but you can easily go without it. I've mostly never slept during the game, and the skill-progress is still quite stable.

Sigh... Two questions:
1) Where can I toggle subtitles? I swear I couldn't find that option.
2) How can I move objects around, put something on my desk, etc?

1) press start, get to settings and it's there ( not sure if audio, video or game but it's definitely there )

2) instead of pressing A to pick it up, hold A till the cursor changes, then you can move it around. press A again to let go.

press esc, get to settings and it's there ( not sure if audio, video or game but it's definitely there )

2) instead of pressing E to pick it up, hold E till the cursor changes, then you can move it around. press E again to let go.

Fixed for the PC.

Also X on the PS3.

Bethesda syndrome kicked in yesterday.
I was looking forward to max out my first skill (Enchanting), and when I did, I suddenly lost interest in the game. I saved and decied to take a break and set a new goal, but I didn't feel like playing today. Maybe I'll take a week long break and finish the main story.

I've definitely saturated myself too. I just finished my first game at level 45 with the objectives I had set for myself (see previous post), but now I'm really not sure I can take any more, it took 100 hours but I did reach that point, as awesome as the world of Skyrim is. There is still lots to see, but I need a break. I'll have to let the dust settle, I've played this game almost as much as my full-time job in the past 3 weeks! Strangely though, I have the urge to start a new character anyway, I must stop myself otherwise I'll just start it and then lose interest within a few hours and forget about my new character.

Nothing to fix the dungeon optimisation or anything? I find it odd that small dungeons can lag more than the entire world rendered out before me.
