History: Japan in one form or another survived the conflagration, allowing Emperor Yoshiro (who looks suspiciously like George Takei) to take the throne. Then all the Samurai came out and the Zaibatsus, well, they had no idea what to do, so a new class of Samurai was built up to roam around with weapons and do things the Shogun says. But also the Emperor is the head of the entire civil apparatus which is much more advanced and modern, thanks to the Meiji times. And then the Emperor and the Shogun teamed up to conquer a bunch of places. It was sweet.

High Aspect: Cell-based Terrorist Army with a State

Trouble: Rebels With Too Many Causes

The Global Liberation Army is a very big tent organization, filled with many cells that despise each other only slightly less than their enemies. The strongest undercut of the GLA is vague anti-imperialist nationalists of various causes within the third world, opposed to both the old West and Soviet spheres of influence into their homelands (Owing to their concentration of bases being primarily in Central Asia, Pan-Turkism in particular is a strong current in the GLA). Just below them in popularity are pan-Islamists, who wish to turn the organization into a modern day caliphate. A comparatively distant third faction is anti-Soviet leftists, particularly anarchists, who see the GLA as true proletariat revolution against Soviet tyranny in particular. Some warlords have no higher ideology than just profit or power, or may even have an esoteric goal far beyond conventional politics.

The end result of these often conflicting ideologies is often limited warfare between the various groups. Although all recognize the need to stick together in the face of aggression against imperialist powers, it is trivially easy to get cooperation to break down between cells over the minueta of how a post-revolution society would look like.

Upon succeeding with style in creating an advantage when related to acts of terrorism, you may forfeit the advantage to instead immediately create a mild consequence against the target.

Aspects

Tunnel Networks - The Global Liberation Army has perfected the art of digging extensive tunnel networks across the world. These tunnel networks were often large enough to allow vehicles such as technicals and even tanks to drive through, while being nearly impossible to detect. Moving assets in and out of regions in a stealthy and efficient manner is like breathing to the GLA.

Black Market Merchants - The Global Liberation Army gathers its funds largely through looting. Whether it is oil from captured derricks, or the weapons of their fallen enemies, anything that the GLA can not use for themselves is liquidated to prospective buyers worldwide. These tax-free, under the table transactions not only are massively profitable for the GLA, but are often avenues for expanding their influence into new corners of the globe.

Rock Beats Laser - Partially from necessity, partially based on ideology, the Global Liberation Army often eschews usage of cutting edge technology, preferring instead to rely on tools that have a proven track record of reliability even under the harshest stress. This philosophy is most evidenced by the fact that entire fortified bases are built without electricity, simply to prevent the risk of Electromagnetic Pulses from damaging GLA infrastructure. While the GLA are not fully luddites, they do border it at times, which can both be an asset and a hindrance, depending on the context.

Approaches

• Covert: +2 - The GLA is both everywhere and nowhere at the same time.
  
• Charm: +1 - It is very easy for the GLA to rile up the masses in righteous vengeance and furious anger. That anger goes a long way for propaganda purposes
  
• Force: +1 - It is the Global Liberation Army, afterall
  
• Science: +0 - Why use fancy electronics when good ol' bullets and unguided rockets do the trick?
  
• Thrift: +0 - Acquiring money is easy, finding a way to spend it is the problem.

Trouble: The tectonic plates in the Caribbean have become unstable after the nuclear disaster. Islands have been sinking into the ocean. It is a question of move or adapt.
Stunt: Dolphin Intelligence - +2 science roll when working on aquatic technology

Aspects:

• Dolphin affinity - As an island nation, alligning ourselves with our Dolphin saviours came only natural. With their help we'll focus on aquatic technologies. Both civil and military.
• Opening economy - The government is moving awat from a full Planned economy towards a more free economy. This results in a boom in the economy. Strategic resources, however, are still in the grasp of the government.
• Caribbean Hegemony - It is time for the Caribbean people to unite and take control of their own future and region.

Approaches:

• Covert: + 1 - Under water nobody can sea you.
• Charm: +1 - We have learned from our overtures to our Florida cousins.
• Force: 0 - The only force we need is the ocean.
• Science: 0 - We will learn from the Dolphins.
• Thrift: +2 - We don't have a lot, so we are good at saving.

History: After the initial chaos of the Nuclear bombs had cool down a group of ambitious and relatively progressive people took control of the Cuban island, forming a new provisional government. Immediately they reached out to the Cuban people in Florida, by promising them reforms, they managed to shift their allegiance back to Cuba, essentially taking control of Florida. Second on the agenda was the acquisition of strategic resources. An small invasion force was assembled to take control of the Venezuelan oil fields and the Panama canal. Finally the consolidated the Caribbean islands under an Caribbean Nationalistic agenda and took control of stragetic islands on both sides of the Panama canal.

• Imperialism and All Reactionaries are Paper Tigers - The world-historical task of the Chinese people - really, of the Asian people as a whole - is to carry the torch of self-determination and liberty for all people, and spread it across the world. Therefore, the Japanese imperialists are merely a temporary roadblock, just as it was before in the past.
  
• China Will Grow Larger - Again! - Despite the regrettable death of the greatest hero of the Chinese Revolution, Mao Zedong, we shall carry forwards his teaching and will - that of a free China, free of feudalism, imperialism and capitalism!
  
• The Correct Handling of Contradictions among the People (And Dolphins, and Alien Comrades) - The situation has changed, yet, at the same time, it hasn't. The core, and principal contradiction, that of capitalism's continued parasitic existence, still continues, but its characteristics have been terminally altered, due to the inevitable nuclear war it brought upon.
