To tell you the truth I think it looks cool, Nice a big, and tough looking. The X-32 looks like some kind of cool shark about to devour the wimpy dolphin looking F-35....

No offense, my friend, but I bet they just Love you in multiplayer Civ... how Are you ever able to overcome your dislike of military hardware long enough to build military units? "Oh," but you might say ~ "I never use them, I just build enough to keep the AI from picking a fight with me."




That's the way it works in real life too. Some of us like to call it "Peace through Superior Firepower."

Anyway, I wanted to get one more pic in of my beloved CVN-71.. I noticed the earlier pictures PT and I put up showed nice shots of the "boats" but none of them truly captured the scale of them.

I always thought the A-10 was a good looking aircraft, especially with a shark mouth painted on the nose.

To me, the greatest fictional weapon is the NOD "Banshee" Tactical Bomber:

As for real Weapons, I've got to say that Russina AA weapon posted earlier is amazing. Those high speed chainguns remind me of Yuri's Gattling Tanks...

I love A-10's (especially in some old-school arcade game I can't recall the name of). Aren't they unofficially referred to as 'Warthogs' as well? Another testament to their function-over-form styling (unless I'm crazy). But yeah, A-10's are awesome workhorses; they rule. I would think that every fighter jet in recent history would have horribly worse 'stats' were it not for the support of A-10's in taking out ground targets in advance. Air superiority rules.

Regarding the JSF, and Colonel's ugly-midsection comment - isn't the midsection of the aircraft bulky/ugly mostly due to the navy's requirement that it have vertical lift capability? IIRC, the JSF was required to have vertical lift capability in at least one form, which would have been the reason for the bulky midsection (at the very least for the skunkworks (accepted) version, which had a central lift fan to accomplish vertical landings). Can't recall if that requirement had any effect on Boeing's version, but that thing certainly did turn out to be a whale-shark-looking oddball...

i think you got it wrong, the fighters take out enemy fighters, and clear the way for the strike aircraft

this slow moving heavy plane wouldnt stand a chance against a mig

my favourite CAS aircraft is the russian SU 25 frogfoot

also heavily armoured, it supposed to to take a direct hit from a 40 mm bofors to the fuselage and not even notice

I like all the commie-crates. Those things are huge, and actually lots of western armies rent out the Ukrainian ones for long-range transport of troops and equipment.
